Chapter 30 : Confrontations Part 2: I'm Wrong

Vika's POV

I pounded my fists into my thighs repeatedly.

If he knew what his father had done to my real parents 18 years ago, did he pretend to love me? While waiting, I was often tempted to think, though part of me reminded myself not to suspect my mate.

"Vika," Asher's voice huffed breathlessly.

"Asher, where did you go? I thought it wouldn’t take you too long to come here from the castle passage." I asked, throwing my arms out to the sides.

"You're mad," Asher said, creasing his brow.

"I'm not. You haven't answered my question yet." I snapped, staring at his eyes.

"Vika, why were you so upset all day? I tried to go to your house to find you, but you weren't at home," Asher said. He put his hands on my shoulders.

I pulled away. Asher clasped his hands together, looking down at the ground.

"You saw my parents? Then, have you figured out how to explain that accident happened 18 years ago?" I asked. "What happened on the night of the accident?"
