Chapter 36 : It Was All A Lie

Devi's POV

My maid, Vika, was the real princess?

What kind of bizarro world had I fallen into? Seriously?

Maybe Shian was just overreacting. I mean, she had just been surprised by Vika beating her in a fight, right?

I punched the pillow onto the floor.

This wasn't real. This wasn't my life.

I had to go talk to that stupid maid, put her in her place and tell her that I was the princess. No one could take the crown from me.

I got off my bed and headed straight for Vika's house.

"Devi, where are you going this late?"

I whipped around. One of the castle guards was talking to me.

Oh, I knew him… Robert, Vika's father.

"You!" I snapped, pointing at him.

"Is something wrong, Princess?" Robert asked.

"Yeah, come with me. I want to ask you something." I took him to an empty room.

I flopped down into the nearest chair and started picking at my fingernail polish.

Robert closed the door to a crack.

"Princess Devi, what happened?" he asked softly.
