*Lucas*
I saw Sasha hit the floor and immediately shifted back. I grabbed the nearest pair of pants and threw them on. Sasha was rigid and pale. I scooped her into my arms and shook her gently.
“Sasha, wake up, baby.”
Her face was streaked with tears and she felt so light and empty.
Lena came up beside me and put a hand on Sasha’s forehead. She closed her eyes and let out a long, slow breath.
“She’s fine, Lucas, just drained and exhausted. She fainted from lack of energy. Once she rests and eats, she’ll be fine,” she assured, touching my back.
“Should a healer see her?”
Lena shook her head. “That magic forced itself back into her in a rush and then exploded back out of her. She’s just exhausted. She isn’t injured.”
I nodded and clutched Sasha’s light, unconscious form closer to my bare chest. Her skin was cold and clammy. I wanted to warm her up.
“Guard, please escort Lucas and Sasha to their room,” Lena called to the nearest guard.
