*Sasha*
While we ate the fresh venison, which melted in my mouth so deliciously, I couldn’t help thinking about what Lucas had said. He made it sound like it would be easy to be apart.
“Sasha, you should be smiling. We’re getting ready to go home.”
“I am happy. I’m just… worried.”
Lucas scoffed and rolled his eyes. “What are you worried about this time?”
I bowed my head and looped my arm around my stomach. “I’m still pregnant in our timeline.”
“Oh, I know.” Lucas winked.
I bit my lower lip. “Can we really have a baby if we are living across the realm from each other?”
Lucas’s smile faded and his brow creased. “We have time to figure that out.”
“Right. Time….”
“Sasha, you’re not pleased with the idea of us living far apart, are you?”
“Not with a baby on the way. If we’re going to be parents….”
Lucas nodded. He reached across the table and took my hand. “Would it be better if I got a job closer to campus, at least until you graduated?”
