Chapter 18: A Kiss

“No,” she said, curling her fingers into a fist and then letting her arm fall to her side. “I can’t and will not do this.” Then she turned and began to wrap her weapons with cloth pieces.

Ara had never felt such a strong urge to undress someone, to be on top of him and feel him everywhere inside of her. But she had to stop this before it got out of hand.

He was her master and a Hova, and she could not fall in love. Her only love was Princess Lila. She was her north, her cause, and the banner she’d sworn to protect all her life. Romance was for people whose homes hadn’t been stolen, whose lives were simple. She hadn’t had a choice, and she was who she was. There was no room for other kinds of love in her life. Not that this was anything like Romance. If he needed sexual pleasure, he wouldn’t get it out of her. Not even if her body was screaming for her to go to him.
