Chapter 21: The Midnight Wave Dancer Pt. 2

Ara

A little after her trunks had been brought in, the ship departed from the dock. Ara heard Princess Lila leave her room when they began to move, probably to see the city one last time. She thought about joining her, but the ship turned, and the window behind her bed now faced the dancing city lights so that she could look outside from there.

The window couldn’t be fully opened, but through the slit, she caught the smell of salt as the chilly wind blew in her face. As the city lights grew dimmer the farther out to sea they sailed, the night sky got brighter with an endless trail of stars. The ship wobbled a little, but it wasn’t too bad, and thankfully, it wasn’t making her the slightest bit dizzy.
