Because Zamson's eyes and hands were on fire. Black fire. Streams of dark fire flowed into the machine, tendrils of energy repairing the whole car. And Pandemona, what used to be Pandemona, became a blazing flock of steel parts hovering in the air like a suspended state of dismantled puzzle pieces coming back together again.

During Pandemona's re-assembly, Naia observed the brightest of light drifting between the fiery car chunks. It was small. A fire crystal. A jewel of molten light slipping into the assembly of Pandemona's engine.
