Chapter 14: Blasphemy

“Oh no, you don’t understand I was just, I….I…..” Cassandra stammered as she turned to face the man and explain herself. Suddenly, the man turned white as a ghost when he looked at her face. He began to tremble and fell flat on his face. She felt really confused, and jumped down from the dais and absent-mindedly removed the crown from her head. She still held it in her hand, though.

“Hey, hey,” she said grasping the guy's arm, but he shoved her off and continued to hold his head, shuddering and mumbling.

“Lakis,” she called over to him, and Lakis slowly opened his eyes and looked over at her. He seemed a little shocked that the guy was there and began to approach her.

“It’s alright. What is wrong, holy man?” he asked the man.
