Chapter 12

I smile a little as I watch the people from Braavos sail away from Skagos. I must say that our first meeting was successful. The merchant decided to buy many of our items like tea and coffee, mostly coffee.

This world has yet to discover the wonder of coffee beans and brewed coffee. Because of this, I can let the people of Skagos have an exploit in the Coffee trading market.

Not only coffee and tea, but the merchant also decided to buy a massive amount of our lumber. There is a little bit of bargaining between me and Donodos, the merchant, but Skagos finally has a vault filled with money, not much but money nonetheless by the end of the day.

Skagosi did not really know how to use money as they only used barter rather than money in their daily life. However, I already told the lord of this place to teach their people how to use money. Even when they are traded with the outside, they usually trade raw goods for food and clothes.

As long as I'm here, I will create a solid foundation for the people of Skagos. Right now, I almost finished creating a self-sufficient food system for them. I teach them how to do farming; I teach them how to raise an animal like chicken and encourage them to make a breeder for the Unicorn in the land.

I already did some experiments and discovered that Unicorn milk is good for you. I don't understand why the people of Skagos did not use that milk when they were starving. I guess it was because Unicorns are wild animals and can kill them if they are not careful. That horn is very sharp, after all.

"Your holiness…"

I grimace at the words the man says. Gaea already told me about this. I will be seen as a god figure by the people of Skagos and get a little bit of divine essence in return, but I cannot get used to them calling me 'Your Holiness.'

It is like I'm the pope, and when they do that, I start to imagine myself as an older man who cannot do material world pleasure like drinking or having sex. While I did not do murder or other heinous crimes, I like myself some snu snu, thank you very much.

"Yes?"

"What should we do now?"

"Hmmm, for now… Let's plant all the seeds we buy, shall we?"

Many kinds of plants are fascinating to me, and I want to experiment with them.

|3rd POV|

It has been five months since the time Donodos came to Skagos, and he must say that he is the luckiest merchant in the world. His visit to Skagos was the most fortunate thing he had ever experienced. He experienced even more profit than he would get if he went to the Karhold.

The coffee sold to him is the most profitable item, and many rich people in Braavos want them and are willing to buy it for a higher price than he intended.

While Donodos intended to keep his goods source a secret, it did not last long. His source of goods starts to get out to other people's ears, and among them is Gallio, the merchant from the Fingers.

With a little bit of money, Gallio was able to buy a map showing the fastest and safest route from the sailor that sailed with Donodos to Skagos. Gallio is a new young merchant who tries his luck by going to Skagos. His family member told him that he needed to pick the safest and more stable place to get the goods, but he decided to gamble it all into Skagos after his first goods had been robbed by the mountain bandit he needed to win big.

He needs to succeed big or die from bankruptcy if he wants to continue to become a merchant.

He sailed from the finger to Skagos for three weeks, and when he arrived in the so-called savage land, his expectation was shattered. When he arrives in the channel between the main island and the uninhabited island to the east, he is greeted with a massive gate made of trees that opens up for him and his crew.

As he looks around, he can see a group of archers standing on the branch of a tree around the canal with a bow in their hand, ready to fire an arrow at them. Gallio is a little nervous at sight, but when the archer notices that they are not a threat, they bow down.

Their ship continues to sail through the canal before we arrive in front of a massive city surrounded by a sea of trees. Their ship stops in the dock, where Gallio can see many people walking around doing something.

He looks around and sees another ship docking inside the port. He knows that he is not the only one who has the same thought of trading with the Skagosi. When he and his men get out of the ship, he is greeted by a middle-aged man.

"Welcome to the city of Nethilor. Can I ask the reason why you are here?"

Gallio walked forward and bowed a little at the man in front of him. He has met many noble people, and the man in front of him releases a noble aura. He did not know that the man in front of him was not a noble but just a regular citizen of Nathilor. The only reason why he releases a noble aura is because of his Bard Class.

"Greetings. My name is Gallio, son of Galian, and I'm a merchant."

"I see. Please follow me. The lord will talk to you."

"Pardon me? Will the lord of Skagos talk to me?"

"Yes. You need his permission before you can trade with our people. Don't worry; it was only a small chat with him."

Even when the middle-aged man in front of him says that Gallio cannot help but get nervous, dealing with a lord is not easy. If you offend them for a little, you will lose your life.

After a few minutes of walking, we arrive at a castle underneath the massive tree he saw earlier. After another minute of walking, they arrive inside the meeting room, where they see seven people inside the room.

Gallio knows that the young man sitting on the chair is the lord while his advisor is standing behind him. They were William and Jorik acting as his advisors.

Gallio also can see five guards around the room ready to kill anyone who dares to threaten their lord.

"You must be the merchant from the Finger, correct?"

Gallio looks at the young man with a shocked expression, knowing that he is from the finger. However, he decided to ignore it and smile at William.

"That is correct. My name is Gallio. It is an honor to meet you."
