|Xenopat Andros - Historian|
The Grand Empire of Skagos, or many called it Skagos in the past. The time when they were still an island in the middle of a frozen sea. The time when Westeros Continent was still in the Dark Age, the age where many people committed many atrocities.
It was the age when the Baratheon family ruled the land. Robert Baratheon, the First King from the Baratheon Family, the Demon of the Trident, and many Grand Titles behind his name. However, all that title is useless as he is a terrible king but not the most terrible. That would be the other king.
Skagos have a dark past. Because of their island location, they cannot cultivate anything on their land. Their only food source is the fish around their island. However, they cannot go fishing because their neighbors decide to overfish on their territory.
The now extinct house of Karstark and Umber has always been a known house for overfishing on other lord's territories. From the territory of Bolton to the territory of Flint, they continue to overfish on the other lord's territory.
The only person who did not know their overfishing problem was the lord of the Northern Territory, Lord Stark. Some of the historians think that Eddard Stark knows about this problem, but he decides to ignore it. However, I think he does not know about it because he will at least send a letter to Umber and Karstark, but there is no proof that Lord Eddard Stark sent a letter to those houses.
Anyway, because of this reason, the people of Skagos need to eat their deceased family to let themselves survive. This 'tradition' lasts for years. However, all of it changed when King William Antares came.
There is no solid proof of where he comes from, as many stories of where he is coming from are exaggerated. Many people from Skagos believe that he is coming from Heaven after seeing his people, the Skagosi, suffer and decide to bless the land and lead them into a brighter future.
This man's past is shrouded in mystery, but there is one thing many people know about him. He is the father of the Skagos Empire. The book of Skagos' History says that William ordered the land to bless the people of Skagos once again, but many scientists speculate that he is the one who made way for the plant to grow in the tundra like Skagos even to this day.
Even with the climate change, Skagos is still filled with snow, but for some reason, it is still the most fertile island in the world, and according to the book that the people of Skagos wrote, it was thanks to William the first.
Because of this reason, the North grows jealous and starts to plot an invasion of Skagos.
Under the reign of William the First, Skagos grew at a massive rate, especially their naval power. With this naval power, they were finally able to repel the force of Umber and Karstark. They overfished on their sea and raided their fishing vessel for all the valuable items (usually the food they gather on the land).
With their fishing activity stopped, those two houses started to starve as fish were also their main food supply. The lord tried to do this quietly and sent their ship to raid or defeat the naval from Skagos, but they were devastated by them.
Twenty ships were sunk or stolen by the Skagosi, and more than seven hundred men died from this expedition.
Seeing they cannot do this quietly, they decide to go to their lord, Eddard Stark. A year later, Skagos faced off against an army of the North.
And so enter the first catalyst to the Rise of the Grand Skagos Empire.
