Chapter 41

Caspian became enraged when Aurora said she wanted to leave him again, he lost the little composure that had left him as her words pierced her heart.

He did not know what had come over him, he grasped her chin and made her look at him, he spoke his heart, she could not leave him and Aurora could not die without his permission.

He saw that he was just widening the gap between them, he held her face gently and spoke his heart, asking her what was wrong.

When Caspian came to the root of the problem he realized how hurt she was, he thought he wanted to make his parents happy, he pulled her in his arms, but now when he held Aurora he forgot about them and nothing was worth it if she was not with him.

He realized when she was gone that his life had no meaning without her, he could only see himself having a future only where she was in it.

Her sobs tore at his heart, how had he been so oblivious to the woman he claimed to love? He pulled them to the bed when she stopped crying after a while.

He held her in his arms and her breathing deepened. He looked at her as she slept, and he vowed that he would not hurt her anymore, he just wanted their days to be filled with joy.

He settled her and went to the guards and ordered them to prepare dinner but this one would be special.

He came back and sat on his table as he worked watching over Aurora, she slept for a while, and when he saw her stirring up and her eyes opened.

He went up to her and held out his hand so they could go to dinner, and when they got to the pavilion, she was looking in awe at the decorations.

He watched her, this is how he wanted to live the remainder of his life with memories and moments such as these.

They sat down and ate supper, he was not done making it up to her. He would do so for the remainder of his life as long as they lived.

When they were done with dinner he went up to her and held out his hand to her, she took it and they made their way to the next surprise.

They walked until they got to the bridge and he saw her eyes light up.

Aurora could not believe the sight there were flowers on the water, she looked out at the lamps that floated above them.

She also noticed the soft glint of the light of the moon and the stars that looked like jewels, she felt Caspian's arms go around her.

Aurora's back was to his, and his head rested on the curve of her neck. He held her tightly and she couldn't be happier.

This was a moment that she wanted for life and a moment they could keep in their hearts forever. She felt Caspian's lips on her neck, and her pulse quickened.

After what seemed to be a lifetime they went back hand in hand back to his chambers. Caspian pulled her to him the minute the door closed.

He kissed her and quenched his thirst, she returned his kiss with her own desire. He undid her dress and lifted her gently.

When he sat her on the bed, she helped him take off his shirt, he kissed every inch of her. Her response made him smile,

He dreamt about this moment and it felt amazing that she was really under him and she felt the same desire as he did.

Aurora woke up the next morning feeling overheated, she realized it was Caspian laying his head on her chest and holding her so tightly.

He was still fast asleep, he had long eyelashes, and his face looked angelic and he breathed in and out.

She smiled when she remembered his words to her, she was lucky that he loved her. She never thought she would be in this situation ever, but here she was now crying over love.

Aurora touched his hair and it was very soft, the sun was up and she needed to return to her villa, she had been away for far too long.

She tried to wiggle out of his arms but his hold tightened,

"You can't leave without letting me know."

"You are awake."

"I woke up now Aurora when you were trying to sneak out I presume."

"The sun is up, and I thought I should go to my villa."

"I just want to stay with you like this for the whole day."

"That is not possible." Aurora could feel him snuggling more into her.

"Just give me a few more minutes Aurora."

She chuckled, "Fine since you asked so nicely."

Aurora was dressed to leave, and Caspian would not stop giving her endless kisses, when she got to her villa she took a bath.

This weekend there was going to be a polo match and this was going to be the first time that she would see the king and queen.

She did not know if they would greet them or not as she did not know how this worked. All she knew was that they would be select dresses to wear.

The weekend came and she got ready for the polo derby, she had not seen Caspian as he needed to prepare.

She had chosen an emerald dress and Eleanor had helped her to get dressed and braid her hair in a loose braid.

"You look stunning my lady, the contrast in your hair and dress adds more to your beauty."

"Thank you, Eleanor."

They made their way to the derby, and she was escorted to the box the concubines would sit, Aurora was led to the box the concubines sat in and they all sat in front.

Opposite them, on the other side of the arena, she could see the king, queen, and Nadia. The players started to come out and they were cheering and when Caspian came out they were louder.

Aurora's breath hitched, he looked amazing and it was mixed with her not seeing him for such a long time.

He waved at the crowd, and she could hear giggles from their stand.

"I wonder when he will visit my room." Said Lillian.

"When he gets tired of you know who as she hogs him all to herself," Hazel replied.

Aurora ignored them, she didn't care for their words her eyes were fixated on him. The match started and it was thrilling to watch, they were screams and cheers from the crowd. She was very impressed at the way they played.

When it was done and Caspian's team won, he was handed a garland on a stick, everyone knew he would hand it to Nadia who was clapping lightly at Caspian's team's victory.

Yet he scanned around the crowd and when he spotted her and their eyes met her heart jumped. No way would he do this in front of his parents and wife.

Caspian walked up to their box but he was on the ground and he motioned the stick to her with the garland.

She took the garland and smiled at him. Everyone cheered and she was too afraid to look up and see his parents let alone Nadia.

She put it on her head and sat back down. Her heart thumped fast, they were led to the court festival area, where there would be a feast.

They had a side for concubines, one of the guards came up to her,

"This way My Lady."

Aurora followed the guard,

"Here she is My Lord and My Lady."

"It is an honor to be in your......…." Before she could finish her statement she was cut off by the queen.

"What is your name?"

"Aurora My Lady."

"Do you know who she is?" She turned to see Nadia seated on the queen's side and a chair open,

"Yes My Lady I do."

"Then know your place Aurora, you may go back to your seat."

"Yes My Lady."

Aurora bowed and went back to the tables with concubines and she could tell they wanted to laugh at her.

She sat on the far end and Caspian came in and he was called over as he sat next to Nadia. She did not look and kept her gaze in front of her.

The night went by and she was barely there, her head was spinning with the words that she had been told: "know your place."

And she barely ate as she kept pushing her food around as there was laughter all around, she sighed as Aurora started to realize she did not have any friends whatsoever.

She felt isolated and alone,

Aurora smiled when she looked up and saw her friends smiling at her. Tears threatened to fill her eyes, how she missed them so much.

They were still looking out for her and they probably knew that she felt alone.

The music started to be played and the dancing started,

"Would you do me the honor of dancing with me?"

Aurora was pulled out of her thoughts when she realized it was Caspian asking her to dance.
