Chapter 8

Zion Pov:

-Earlier That Day Near Dawn-

Bored, I look out through the entrance. Neil's creating new flora around the dungeon, I left him to do his thing because he absolutely radiates happiness making the plants and I don't want to ruin it with my lack of knowledge.

A short while later a woman… human, gonna go with human, walks up to the entrance admiring it. They look up at the sunflowers 'carved' by Neil, so I dim the lights so they don't go completely blind. They stare for a long while but their gaze eventually turns down. From what I can tell they can spot Neil and I's little surprise. I read about details like this when going through the internet in boredom. But I really remembered because Neil wanted to add more fauna to the entrance, but sadly we can't create 'life' outside the dungeon even at the entrance, so we agreed on carvings.

As they were looking down, I noticed that it was jussst begging to be in the window to be able to see the engravings in the glass. I stop the flow of water on the east side allowing the dawn sun to shine through and illuminate Neil's handiwork.

Neil Pov:

Zion has gone off to change some things about the automatons in the first room while I am replacing anything that hasn't already been replaced. But I'm really happy we had our first two 'adventures' today, Lia and Mara I believe. I'm not too mad that they got through the first room so easily, from what I could hear while they were at the entrance Lia was an adventurer at one point so that's probably why they got through so easily. Also I noticed something that Zion hasn't, there building a town right outside our dungeon! Zion usually focuses on improvements or small expansions we can make, so I'm going to wait and see how long it is until Zion notices.

Once Zion finished making some changes we entered the core menu, Zion was the one to initiate the Lvl Up this time. Once again my vision fades out.

I open my eyes to see a dim room with no windows, against one wall is a bed covered in plushies with chibi wolves being the most frequent, there were soft changing fairy lights along the walls, and opposite of the bed I see a desk with three monitors along with notepads pencils a mouse and keyboard. At the desk I see a man about my age, near deathly pale skin with dark circles under his eyes, seeing him like this made me unreasonably sad. Just as I was about to catch Zion's attention the scene changes. I see him, store bought coffee in his hand, he was wearing a dark hoodie and sweatpants that sagged around his thin pale figure. As I was watching a car screeched around the corner, a horrible squealing sound as the car failed to stop and hit Zion. At the point of impact I felt my world slow down, pain shooting through my for no apparent reason.
