Chapter 23

Mara Pov:

Around 1-ish Lili returns from her contact with the dungeon hosts, which for some stupid reason, I couldn't come along to. Anyway, she just passes out as soon as she gets inside, scaring me to death! Once she wakes up I'm going to Kill her, and give her soup, But Mostly Kill HER. First leaves at the dead of night, then she goes to meet with the host without me! We agreed to go together, for safety and stuff! For the one always obsessed about 'SaFtEy' she would have at least told me what she was doing! I only found out as the veil of water wooshed behind her LIKE THE INEVITABLE VEIL OF DEATH! I was so mages damn worried that I personally paved 30% of the main road to the dungeon. IN AN HOUR! If I didn't love Lia I would have ended her as soon as she got out of that wonder of construction, but no, I'm a loving spouse so I took her back to the tent.

I went to the workers to discuss my end of work for today. Since I'm an architect that only has below average leg and arm strength, I'm not very needed.

The next day a mechanical bunny enters into our planning tent and drops off a piece of paper, my guess is that it's from the dungeon. There were a few basic rules like don't climb the maze and such but, one of them stood out to me. 'When leaving the dungeon nothing will attack you unless you attack first'

Zion Pov:

As I send Rashid out with the paper I feel myself relax. These last few days have been… not the greatest to put it lightly. We got attacked, and I had to actually talk to someone. And now I'm angry at myself for letting Neil know I can't talk to people, and stupid emotions are clouding my thinking and I can't figure out what to say to Neil and ughhh I haven't been able to have an actual conversation with him for the last 3 days, I just feel so awkward. If I could I'd bury myself in work to pretend nothing is happening, but I can't even focus on that. All I can do is throw myself into a hoodie and stare at a wall.

Neil Pov:

Zion has been pretty down since the day we got attacked. He hasn't been talking, responding, or even working. Most of the time I find him brooding or staring at a wall with a hoodie covering his face. Now I have to act on my duty of making people around me happy, and improve his mood.

Once Rashid comes back I'm going to ask him and Sen to distract him as I make him a gift. I need to make sure he's good and distracted though because this gift is going to require me heading outside the dungeon.
