Shoveling Light III

Confused, I followed her through the hundreds of graves in the place. All of them looked pristine with no dirt, trash, or cracked stones, and the lawn was as green and as alive as it could be.

The more we walked, the more surprised I grew by the graveyard's size. I never would've imagined such a big place to be built this close to the center of one of the cities with the greatest population densities in the world. The only thing that gave it away was how cramped the graves were.

The light rain continued to fall on our black attire when we stopped in front of an ordinary grave. Sachiko's last name engraved in the stone made it obvious it was her parents' grave. However, their first names furrowed my eyebrows.

Where have I seen these names before…?

My eyes opened wide as soon as my brain connected the dots.

"You realized it already, didn't you?" asked Sachiko.
