The news about Tetsuya being stabbed spread all over the Internet that same afternoon. Most people condemned the action, including the host and organizer of the Video Game Awards, who sent a heartfelt message to the entire team. On the other hand, I knew the haters would say we had it coming for disappointing them. As much as I expected it, my blood boiled every time I read one of their comments, so I stopped using the Internet completely.

What was I supposed to do? I couldn't work or play the only game I had been playing for years because it was an MMO. I could've thought about how to fix and improve Starworld, but I was supposed to disconnect from all of that.

I installed some of the single-player games I had wanted to try for years, but I would stop playing after a couple of hours and change to a new one. I never had the mood to finish them.
