Reaching the Lotus sage academy.
The journey continued, and to motivate him, the system kept on reminding him of how close he was to reaching the academy. As usual, he came across zombies, but he made sure to hide from them and pass them quietly, he's got no motivation and strength to fight.
At some point, while he was trekking, he felt like wetting his mouth with a soft drink and eating something, but he couldn't...they were all gone. Dawn had arrived, and Hugo had gotten really close to the academy, he confirmed that when the system notified him about it,
[ Host, you've gotten really close to the Lotus sage academy. A little more trekking, and you'll be there]
Finally, he'll get to see the academy, just a little more trekking...a little more. Journeying for minutes more, now he was extremely close to the academy, no, let me say he was at the academy. He was just meters away from it, but there was an obstruction to get there, zombies were in front of him right now. Like seriously? Now that he was close to the academy? These f**king bizarre creatures were annoying.
As known, he's got no power to fight now, so he was gonna divert their attention to somewhere else and pass freely. He took a stone, threw it to a wall, and hid. The zombies turned around and began running towards the wall. Reaching the wall, they began touching it and glancing at it like it was a mirror...they were so stupid.
Shaking his head a little, he came out of his hiding and began walking slowly. He cornered as the system had already instructed, and the moment he cornered, he noticed that one of the zombies side-glanced at him, and his heart skipped. The zombie sighted him, so it was most likely gonna go after him along with its fellow bizarre creatures.
Hugo increased his pace as he arrived in front of the academy. Just as the system told him, the academy was fenced round, and with this type of barricade, no zombie could easily gain entrance. Hugo was relieved and happy at the same time 'cause he had finally arrived at the academy, but seems like those bizarre creatures were coming in his back.
He couldn't gain entrance into the academy 'cause it was gated. How can something be fenced without having a gate? There were two guys dressed in black at the top of the fence, and by now, they had already sighted him. Hugo was expecting that they'll open the gate quickly for him to enter. But his expectation was cut short when one of them began shouting,
"Go down! Go down! Get down on your knees!".
What! Like seriously? What was happening? Zombies were coming in his back, and they were telling him to get down on his knees? The guy giving him that command was holding an AK-47 in his hand, and he was pointing it at Hugo. The other guy at the top of the fence left there, he was coming down to meet, Hugo. Hugo began explaining,
"Am not one of them, am not a zombie, I wasn't bitten, I'm okay. You guys should open the gate for me to enter, those bizarre creatures are coming in my back".
The moment he made that statement, the zombies appeared and began running towards him...there were about five of them. The guy in black wasn't holding an Ak-47 for nothing, he began shooting the zombies one by one in their foreheads causing them to fall to the ground. Hugo was breathing heavily, he thought those zombies would have bitten him.
The gate to the academy opened, and one of the guys in black came out. Hugo glanced up at the top of the fence, but he didn't sight that guy with the AK-47 anymore, seems like he was coming out also. The guy strolled over to where Hugo was standing, he was holding a sword in his hand. The other guy with the AK-47 came out also and strolled to where Hugo was standing.
Then one of them inquired of him, "Who are you?".
"Umm..I am Hugo by name, I heard about this academy, and I journeyed to this place...it wasn't easy". Hugo retorted.
The guy holding the AK-47 tapped the other guy on his shoulder and said to him,
"Check if he's infected".
The guy nodded his head and brought out a type of small device from his pocket, pressed a certain button on it, and put it close to Hugo's neck. The device didn't make any kind of alarm that shows that something was wrong. Then he put it close to one of Hugo's eyes, but it was still the same...no alarm.
He glanced at his comrade and uttered, "He isn't infected".
"Check his neck closely and some other parts of his body to see if you'll notice any zombie bite, we've got to be very careful". The guy holding the AK-47 uttered once again, he was being careful. The device had already confirmed that nothing was wrong with, Hugo, but he still told his comrade to search for zombie bites around his body.
The guy did as he was told, he checked Hugo's neck closely, checked the whole of his arms, his legs, and so on, but he saw nothing. He glanced at his comrade and uttered once again,
"This guy isn't infected, that's for sure. And looking at his face, I can tell that it wasn't easy for him to get to this place, look at the blood plastered to his face".
That was enough to convince the guy holding the AK-47 that Hugo wasn't infected. He patted Hugo on his left shoulder and said,
"We'll have to take him inside then".
Finally! he'll get to see what the Lotus sage academy looks like. The guy holding sword glanced at Hugo and uttered,
"Follow us".
They began sauntering, and Hugo followed them from behind. Reaching the tall gate, they entered, and Hugo entered as well. The moment he stepped foot into the compound of the academy, the system's interface appeared in front of him, and this is what he saw there while hearing the voice of the system,
[ Ding! Ding!]
[ Congratulations on accomplishing first quest]
[ Reward: +100 Exp]
Oh! He had almost forgotten, the system gave him a quest to get to this academy without getting bitten, and he had accomplished it. He wondered if this would have any effect on his stats, well, he doesn't want to think about that right now, he was inside the academy at this moment...and it's about time to glance around.
Wow! the compound of the academy was really spacious, it was vast. Some part of the compound was covered in bricks, and the rest was sandy. People were in the compound engaging in different activities, mostly young ones. Some were training, and the training was in two parts. Some were training with the help of an adult, the adult females were training the young females, and the adult males were training the young males.
While some were training alone, they were practicing martial arts, using a stick to practice sword fighting, and so on. And apart from the people training, some people were creating things. The blacksmiths were there, the carpenters, the seamstresses, and so on...they were of great help to this academy.
They were helping out with their skills. The blacksmiths were the ones creating the swords and other stuff related to iron. The carpenters were the ones creating the chairs, tables, and other wood-related stuff. The seamstresses were the ones sewing, mending outfits, and so on. And so it goes for the other skills in the academy.
Done glancing at the people, Hugo's eyes shifted to the buildings. There were about three buildings in the compound, and each of them was tall and spacious. The colors used in painting the buildings were glamorous. All Hugo could say was wow! he's finally seen what the Lotus sage academy looks like, and he liked what he was seeing, he liked the order.
He was still following the two guys from behind, and they were heading to one of the spots where people were training. They reached there, and the teens training there stopped what they were doing and glanced at them, their gazes were mainly fixed on, Hugo. The guy holding an AK-47 said to one of the teens,
"Go call me, Captain Wayne".
The guy did as he was told, he strolled off immediately. By now, many eyes were already on, Hugo, they were seeing him for the first time, they had already discerned that he just arrived at this academy.
After some minutes of waiting, Hugo sighted a man in black long outfit come out of the entrance of one of the buildings...he had already discerned that that was, Captain Wayne.
