As they thought, the tier 4 zombies were a pain in the ass. The monk had already confirmed it with his statement. He continued speaking,
"The tier 4 zombies are half-human, half-zombies".
"What!". The five of them voiced out in unison, then Hugo inquired, "Seriously?".
"Yes, that's the absolute truth. Once they get bitten, they'll begin transforming, but after that, something would feel weird. Normally, the tier 1 to tier 3 zombies aren't themselves anymore, their memories have flushed away. If they see their mum, they'll bite their mum. But the tier 4 zombies are different, their memories are still intact,
If you set eyes on a tier 4 zombie, you wouldn't know that it's a zombie 'cause it would look exactly like a human. They are really strong also, fast, and they can heal. Just like the tier 3 zombies, the only way to kill them is by cutting off their heads. But doing that wouldn't be easy 'cause they aren't fools, their memories are still intact,
As I've said before, they are half-human, half-zombie. They are just like humans, they can eat normal foods, drink, and so on. But they need blood also, that desire to bite and suck blood is also in them. But it isn't as much as the other tiers, they can control their urge to suck blood. Since their memories are still intact, they can choose to be good or bad. But if you come across a bad one, then there is serious problem,
Bringing it down would be the hardest thing to do, if you aren't skilled enough, it would be the one to kill you. I don't know if there are any good tier 4 zombies, but definitely, there are the bad ones. Coming across one would be a pain in the ass. So that's it, that's the four tiers of zombies". Monk Talon concluded with his explanation.
Hugo and the other students breathed in and out, they digested the explanation. Then Captain Wayne uttered,
"So, you guys got that, right?".
"Yes sir". They retorted in unison.
But Hugo was still curious about something, it was one of the main reasons why he journeyed to this academy. He glanced at the captain and said,
"We understood the explanation, or let me say, I understood the explanation. But I'm still curious about something, it's important".
"What is it?". Captain Wayne inquired.
"How did this apocalypse come about? What caused it? Definitely, it would have to start from somewhere, a normal person wouldn't just turn to zombie and start biting people? There'll have to be an explanation".
Captain Wayne and Monk Talon glanced at each other, then they sighed. Then Captain Wayne focused his gaze back on Hugo and said,
"I don't have the answer to that question".
"What! Seriously?".
"Yeah".
"How come? You guys knew the different tiers of zombies, but you don't know the cause of this apocalypse? Can't Monk Talon here give us information about it?".
"He informed us about the different tiers of zombies just by meditating, we had no idea about it, we only knew the tier 2 zombies. But his meditation has its limit, there are some certain things he can't see just by meditating and praying. To give us information about the cause of this apocalypse, he'll need his scroll". Captain Wayne explained.
"His scroll?". One of the students inquired.
Before Captain Wayne could speak, Monk Talon spoke,
"Yeah, when I make use of my scroll to meditate, I'll surely find out the cause of this apocalypse, how it came about. I get more information and dive more into the spirit world whenever I'm making use of my scroll to meditate".
"So, where is the scroll?". One of the female students inquired.
"It's in my house, one of the apartments of a building along the boulevards. I couldn't take it with me 'cause I was hurrying with my eldest son to get to this academy". Monk Talon retorted.
"So, where is that son of yours?".
"He's dead, he got bitten by zombies, he sacrificed his life just to save me, so I could get to this academy safely".
There was an unhappy expression on the monk's face as he made that statement, remembering it was causing him pain. Meanwhile, Hugo was thinking of something, he remembered that the system said he'll know the cause of this apocalypse once he gets to this academy, but that seems to be a lie. The captain of this academy and an experienced old monk don't even have information on what started the apocalypse.
He wanted to speak to his system right now, but he knew he couldn't, he was in the midst of six people. They were still talking about the monk's scroll when Hugo decided to chip in something,
"Can't the scroll be gotten? Like, some well-skilled students of this academy should be sent to get the scroll from the monk's house".
"We've done that twice, we sent the first group, they went and never returned. After some weeks, we sent another group of four skilled S class students. Only one of them returned, a female, she wasn't with the scroll. According to what she told us, her fellow students were bitten by tier 3 zombies". Captain Wayne said.
"Holy shit!". Hugo uttered rubbing his face with his right palm.
"And apart from that, this city's internet has been destroyed, no connection. Our phones have become useless, we can't make use of the internet, we can't make use of the map to know the conditions of other cities. For sure, some cities are safe, some cities aren't filled with zombies. For example, I feel the Sky Wall city isn't filled with zombies,
But we aren't sure yet, we need a valid map to know that". Captain Wayne stated, then he glanced at Hugo and the other four students and inquired, "You guys are with your phones, right?".
"Yes". They retorted in unison apart from, Hugo.
Hugo was from ancient times, so he doesn't know what a phone was, he's never seen one before. So when they were all bringing out their phones from their pockets, Hugo just stared. Captain Wayne strolled to a certain cupboard and took out his phone from one of the drawers. They were all holding their phones in their hands apart from, Hugo, and the monk.
The monk knew what a phone was, but he didn't care about having one. Hugo doesn't know what a phone was, but he was seeing them now...it was a new thing to him. Captain Wayne had already noticed that all the other students were holding their phones in their hands apart from, Hugo, so he inquired of him,
"Hugo, where is your phone?".
"Umm..it lost a long time ago when I was running from zombies the first day I noticed them. I didn't really care about it 'cause I aimed to survive at that time". Hugo responded...he was lying though.
"Okay, no prob, there are five phones here anyway? They're enough".
He made use of the phones one by one to try to make use of the internet, but it didn't work. He tried making use of the maps also, but the case was the same. He then said to the students,
"It's the same problem, the internet isn't working, no connection at all, so I can't make use of the map in your phones".
"So, there is no possibility that we'll ever find out the conditions of other cities in this continent?". One of the male students inquired.
"There's a possibility. You know, I have a certain device in my house that doesn't need internet or connection to make use of the map". Captain Wayne said.
"So, why has no one gone to get it?".
"The same problem, too many dangers, and mistakes. The first group went, and they came back safely. They were able to get a device, but it was the wrong one. There are about four devices in my house that look similar to the original one, the one that could do the main job. They brought back the wrong one, all their efforts went to waste,
We sent another group of skilled students, F class, but they came back that same day saying they don't want to die. They saw tier 3 zombies in front, and they headed back to the academy. Since then, we've forgotten about it, no soldiers have been sent again. Our aim now is to get that scroll, the monk's scroll. We need to know what brought about this zombie apocalypse".
Hugo and the other students nodded their heads in agreement.
