Almost no effect?

For minutes, Hugo didn't see Captain Wayne, so he stood up and began doing some personal training. He wanted to increase his speed, both the one that concerns his attack and his running. So he started attacking the air, which means he was attacking nothing. He was doing that to increase his attack speed.

After some minutes of personal training, he sighted Captain Wayne heading towards him, and he stopped what he was doing. Captain Wayne got to where Hugo was standing and said to him,

"Our training for today has ended, we'll continue tomorrow. But that doesn't mean that you can't train personally, you can choose to...it's up to you. I'll be on my way".

And with that, he sauntered away. Hugo sat back on the ground, he didn't care if his trouser was getting stained, it would be washed. And Captain Wayne sat on the ground with him not long ago, so. He was feeling a little hungry, after the breakfast he ate in the morning, he had eaten nothing else.

And that was the case for everyone in this academy, they'd only eaten breakfast. Well, Hugo was expecting it 'cause it was announced at the cafeteria this morning, they'll only eat breakfast and dinner for today. That was how it was in this academy, the amount of available foodstuff would determine the number of times they'll eat in a day.

If the foodstuff available were many, then everyone in the academy was sure to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But if the foodstuff available were low or medium, then they'll eat only breakfast and dinner. There had never come a time when they had to eat only one meal in a day. That's either breakfast, lunch, or dinner...it had never happened.

That's why the students going out everyday to go get foodstuff were doing a great job. Some had even lost their lives 'cause of it, they went and never returned. Hugo was still sitting on the ground, and he was contemplating if he should go into the compartment he was sharing with other students to rest, or stay outside here and train some more.

Contemplating for a minute more, he decided that he'll stay outside here and train some more, he wanted to become stronger. Who knows, 'cause of the personal training he was about to engage in, Captain Wayne could notice some improvement in his skills when they come out here to train tomorrow.

He first started with push-ups. He did a total of 45 push-ups before leaving that part of training. Then he started punching the air, he was training his fist, he wanted to learn how to punch swiftly. He did that for minutes, and now, it was about time to work on his speed, the one that concerns his legs. He was done with his attack speed, it was time to train his legs.

He first started with little jogging, then he started stamping his feet to the ground with speed, he wanted to improve his legs' flexibility, he wanted the muscles to straighten. After that, Hugo began running from one side of the compound to another side. It was something he had calculated, he wasn't running from one end of the compound to the other end, no, that would be too much.

And apart from that, he'll disturb the people that were training on the compound..this compound doesn't belong to him? By now, the students in his group had evacuated the compound. That's the likes of, Everett, Evelyn, Ryder, and Vera...seems like they were done training already. He glanced around, but he didn't sight them.

Well, it was close to complete evening already, so why shouldn't they have gone inside? He was supposed to have gone inside too, but he wanted to become stronger. The cooks had already started preparing something on time, something everyone would eat for dinner. And now that it was evening, and they were done cooking, they announced that it was time for everyone to come eat.

All the people on the compound departed when they heard the announcement, like, this is food we are talking about here. Hugo stopped the fist training he was engaging in, it's time to go eat. But before he'll go into the cafeteria, he wanted to check his stats. He had been training since morning, and he couldn't help but wonder if there was an increase in his stats points.

So he called out on the system, "System, host needs you".

He heard the system's voice, [ Yes, host. What do you need?]

"Can I see my stats?". Hugo voiced out.

[ Yes, host]

And with that, that interface appeared in front of, Hugo, and this is what he was seeing there,

Done glancing at his stats, the interface disappeared. And Hugo noticed something, none of his stats points increased apart from his endurance and strength, they added one point each. So with all of his training since morning, all that increased was his strength and endurance? And worst of all, it's only one point they added?

He's been working on his speed, and it didn't even add a single point? He said to the system,

"System, how is it that there was no increase in my stats apart from my strength and endurance? Like, I've been training since morning".

[ That only means that you haven't trained enough. Host, you're still weak, you've got a lot of training to do]

Hugo sighed and uttered, "OK, I've heard you, you may go now. I've got to go eat, I'm hungry".

He began strolling to the cafeteria, he was supposed to change up first before going to the cafeteria, his clothes were stained. But no, he wouldn't change up first, he was too hungry. As usual, the cooks had prepared a delicious meal for everyone to eat. The ingredients available were limited, but they always find a way to prepare delicious meals...they were good cooks.

After eating, to Hugo's surprise, cups of drinks were served round also. Part of the things the S class students brought were stuff used for making juice. Hugo had been wanting to drink something sweet, so he wasted no time as he gulped the content of the cup down his throat.

Everyone had eaten to their fill, umm..let me not say to their fill, but at least, they felt that they ate something. And almost everyone was in their rooms right now, both the students and the adults. Very few were outside training, very few.

It was nighttime already, and many had slept off, while some were lying on their beds, but they were still awake, and the rest were engaging in other activities. In Hugo's room, almost all the students there were still awake, they were engaging themselves with activities. Most of them were operating their phones doing what was expected, playing games...and they were in groups.

Everyone here were A class, and the captain had already shared them in groups. So, they were chatting amongst themselves in groups. Definitely, not all the A class students were in this room, the rest were making use of other rooms. So the groups weren't complete since they weren't making use of the same room.

But the ones that knew they were paired together chatted amongst themselves and made use of their phones. Hugo was sitting on his bed when Ryder strolled over to meet him with his phone in his hand. He thought Hugo would be bored since he doesn't have a phone with him, so why shouldn't he just stroll over to meet him and share his phone with him?

And they were also in the same group, so it shouldn't be hard for him to share his phone with him and keep him company? Everyone was with their group. He got to where Hugo was and said to him,

"Hey, man".

"Hey, Ryder". Hugo voiced out.

"You mind sharing my phone with me? We could play games together". Ryder uttered once again.

"Sure".

Hugo doesn't know how to use a phone, those games they were playing, he doesn't have a single idea on how to play them...but he still uttered this word to Ryder, 'Sure'. What else could he do? He can't tell Ryder to go away 'cause he doesn't know how to operate a phone and play those games? Ryder would be offended if he had done that.

But he was afraid that Ryder would notice something weird about him. Like, when he notices that Hugo was having trouble playing the games, he'll be confused and surprised at the same time. He sat close to Hugo on his bed, then he inquired,

"So, how did you find those questions we handled this morning? Those brain testers?".

"Umm..they were a bit confusing, but they weren't impossible to answer, I gave answers to all of them". Hugo retorted.

Ryder nodded his head and uttered, "Yeah, same for me, I answered them all".
