Working on stance and stamina.

But what do they want to do with the pole? Was the pole part of their training? They kept on strolling until they arrived in front of the pole, and that was enough confirmation for, Hugo. The pole was averagely tall, and there was a round flat thing on top of it.

But 'cause the pole was averagely tall doesn't mean you can fall from it anyhow. If you fall from it by mistake, you'll definitely break something. And if you jump from the top of the pole and you don't have a flexible body, your landing on the ground wouldn't be that nice, you'll most likely break something also.

Hugo was confused as to what they were doing here, so he glanced at Captain Wayne and inquired,

"So, what are we doing standing in front of this pole?".

"Hmm", Captain Wayne let out, then he glanced directly at Hugo and called out his name, "Hugo".

"Sir". Hugo voiced out.

"Begin climbing this pole".

Hugo was perplexed by Captain Wayne's statement, what does he mean by, 'Begin climbing this pole?', was it part of the training? He uttered to Captain Wayne,

"I should begin climbing this pole?".

"Yeah".

"Why?".

"Don't ask questions, just do as I tell you, it's part of your training, and it will benefit you".

Hugo had no choice, he would just have to do as he was told. He began climbing the pole steadily, and climbing to a certain extent, he inquired of Captain Wayne,

"Is it okay here?".

"Climb till you get to the top of the pole". Captain Wayne said.

"What! Seriously?".

"Yeah, climb till you get to the top of the pole".

As usual, Hugo would just have to do as he was told. He continued climbing the pole, and climbing to a certain extent, he glanced down, damn! he was far from the ground now. And that's how it kept on going, he'll climb to a certain extent, glance down, and continue climbing. And now, he's reached the top of the pole as he was already standing on the round flat surface.

Then he inquired of Captain Wayne in an audible tone of voice, "So, what next?".

Hugo was shocked by the words that oozed out of Captain Wayne's mouth, "Jump down".

He wanted to be sure he heard well, so he voiced out once again, "Umm..what did you say?".

"I said you should jump down".

"Like seriously, Captain Wayne, are you trying to kill me? How can you tell me to jump down from this place? Are you trying to kill me?". Hugo voiced out with a bewildered facial expression.

"I'm not trying to kill you, I'm just training you". Captain Wayne said.

"Training me? By telling me to jump down from this place? You've been training me for these past few days, but I don't consider this a training".

Captain Wayne laughed a little and said, "You don't know how lucky you are, before you, I have trained other students, and it's only some of them I gave this training. I'm not trying to kill you, I'm trying to improve your stance and stamina".

"How?".

"This training would help your body become used to jumping down from high places. You can easily jump down from a high place and still maintain your stance and stamina. Let's say zombies are chasing you, and you've gotten to a point where you'll have to jump, and they are too many, you don't want to fight. What will you do?".

"I'll have to jump at that moment". Hugo responded.

"You see, and if you aren't good at jumping down from high places, what would you do? You'll most likely get trapped at that moment. But if you're a good jumper, your escape would be easy".

It was at this moment Hugo came to realize why Captain Wayne was giving him this training, it was important. But men, can he jump from this place without breaking something? He was a little terrified. Captain Wayne noticed the little fright on his face and said to him,

"Don't just jump down, try to focus, try to imagine things. Hugo, look back".

Hugo glanced back immediately, he thought something dangerous was coming in his back, maybe a dangerous bird, but he saw nothing. He glanced back at Captain Wayne, and Captain Wayne repeated,

"Hugo, look back, nothing dangerous is coming, just look back".

Hugo glanced back once again, and Captain Wayne began uttering,

"Imagine that lots of zombies are coming in your back, and tier 3 zombies are among them. You're standing at the edge of a hill, it's high, but it's jumpable only with focus. If you aren't used to jumping from high places, you'll die or break things if you dare jump from it,

The zombies are getting closer, they are ready to devour you, they are ready to feast on you".

As Captain Wayne was uttering those words, Hugo was imagining exactly what he was saying. Captain Wayne was still speaking,

"Now, Hugo, glance down".

Hugo did as he was told, he glanced down.

"The zombies are getting nearer, and you don't want to die, the only way is to jump down from that cliff. You have two options, jump or stay, both would give you different results. But the best option is to jump".

The moment Captain Wayne made that last utterance, something triggered Hugo to jump off the pole. He had been imagining every single word the captain had been saying, and somehow, he felt like they were real. He didn't want to die, so he jumped off the pole.

"Arghhhhhh". Hugo shouted at the top of his voice while he was still in the air, this was the first time he was doing something like this. But somehow, he was still focused, his landing on the ground wouldn't be that bad?

He landed on the ground and rolled a little, then he stood up and said,

"I did it, I didn't break anything".

The moment he made that statement, his leg shook a little, yeah, he broke something, but it was very minor. It was just a little twist in his leg, very little. Captain Wayne walked to him and inquired,

"Did you break anything?".

"Yeah, my left leg twisted a little, it's very minor". Hugo retorted.

"I'll straighten that for you".

"What!".

"I said I'll straighten that leg of yours for you, sit down on the ground and stretch out your left leg".

Hope he wouldn't twist it the more, that's what was on Hugo's mind. He did as he was told, he sat on the ground and stretched out his left leg. Then Captain Wayne held it and straightened it.

'Crack'. That was the sound that came out of the straightening.

Hugo stood up from the ground and jumped up a little, his leg was perfectly fine now. Then he glanced at Captain Wayne and said,

"I did it".

"Yeah, you did it, that was a nice first try. You jumped off the pole and landed on the ground successfully, though there was a little twist, it was still a nice first try". Captain Wayne uttered.

"I want to take a second attempt".

"That's a great idea, more practice, and you'll become perfect in it".

Hugo strolled to the pole and began climbing it once again. This time, no climbing and pausing, he just climbed until he got to the top of the pole, then he stood on the round surface. Standing on it, he glanced down, he wouldn't need that imagination about the zombies to accomplish this.

Standing on the pole for some seconds, he closed his eyes, breathed in and out, opened his eyes, and jumped. He didn't shout this time, and the jump was successful. He landed on the ground and squatted a little with his right-fisted palm on the ground. He didn't break anything this time, it was a smooth and successful jump.

"You're improving already, so fast". Captain Wayne said to, Hugo.

"Yeah, I'm surprised myself, the feeling is great". Hugo said.

"Yeah, I got that from every student I gave this same training. It might be of great help to you".

"Can I go one more time?".

"Sure, you can go for as many as you want. I'm glad to see that you're already learning it, and you're enjoying the feeling".

Hugo climbed the pole once again, got to the top, and jumped down successfully, he was getting used to it already. After that, he did it once again, and he was done. Then Captain Wayne said to him,

"As I've told you before, you're among my lucky students, not all the students I trained I taught how to do this, and see, you've learned to do it already. Now, it's time for us to move to the next training, you have to learn how to use your weapon".
