The injured boy.

Hugo got close to where Captain Wayne was standing, and by now, Captain Wayne had changed his body posture. He wasn't standing so freely anymore, his standing had changed to that of a person that was ready to dodge. Without wasting time, Hugo implemented his attack.

He bent, then swiveled with speed as the sword he was holding swung along with him. He aimed to hit Captain Wayne in the leg, and he did it so swiftly. Captain Wayne wasn't expecting that attack, at all. But he was the one that taught Hugo the attack, so though Hugo executed it swiftly, he still knew how to dodge it...he was too good.

Before the sword could touch his leg, he moved back as the sword swung past, it was a close call.

'He dodged it again? Holy shit!'. Hugo thought to himself.

But he didn't stop there, he stood up and executed that attack once again. He ran towards Captain Wayne and swiveled once again, this time, the sword was gonna slash Captain Wayne in the stomach. The sword was already heading to Captain Wayne's stomach when he moved back again...as usual, Hugo's sword missed target again.

Hugo had already lost hope that any of his sword attacks would touch, Captain Wayne, but he still didn't stop. He ran towards Captain Wayne and jumped while shouting,

"Arghhhhhh".

Once he lands on the ground, his wooden sword would land on Captain Wayne's head if he doesn't dodge it. But Captain Wayne doesn't plan on dodging this one, he was gonna block it. As Hugo's legs were getting closer to the ground, his sword was getting close to Captain Wayne's head.

Yes, the sword was gonna touch his head, seems like he wouldn't be able to dodge this one. But suddenly, Captain Wayne raised his sword as Hugo's own landed on his, and what followed right after that...disappointment. The moment Hugo's legs landed on the ground, he threw a kick with his right leg, he was trying his very best to hit Captain Wayne.

But Captain Wayne dodged it by moving to the side swiftly, and now, Captain Wayne was done dodging, it was time to throw his attack. The moment he dodged Hugo's kick attack, he swung his sword aiming for Hugo's neck, but Hugo dodged it with a little bend. He wasn't done yet, he forwarded his sword once again aiming for Hugo's stomach, he wanted to give him a fake stab.

But Hugo dodged it once again by swiveling his body as the sword pass his stomach swiftly. Little did he know that Captain Wayne was already coming with a kick, he wasn't fast enough. He's been attacking Captain Wayne for some time now, and Captain Wayne had been dodging all his attacks.

But Captain Wayne just started with his attacks, and he was about to hit Hugo already. By the time Hugo noticed the kick heading towards him, it was already too late. The kick landed on his stomach as he flew off and landed on the ground. But as known, Captain Wayne wouldn't add much force to his attacks when training a student, so there wasn't much force to the kick.

If he was punching and kicking Hugo with full force...men, it would be disastrous, Hugo would spit out blood. Hugo had already given up hope that any of his sword attacks would touch, Captain Wayne, he was too skilled and fast. Captain Wayne walked to him and uttered,

"Need a hand?".

"No, I'll get up on my own".

And the moment Hugo made that utterance, the gate to the academy opened. It was opened by one of the S class students positioned at the wall to watch out for lurking dangers. And the moment he opened it, the S class students that left very early in the morning to go get foodstuff stepped into the compound, they were back.

But something was wrong, one of the students was badly injured, a male. He couldn't even walk on his own, two other male students were assisting him. They were four in number, three boys and one girl. And from the look of things, the injury was on the side of his stomach. This had already gathered the attention of many people on the compound.

They got the foodstuff safely, but seems like things happened on their way back to this academy. Captain Wayne glanced at Hugo and said to him,

"I've got to go meet them, we'll continue our training later".

Hugo just nodded his head, like, Captain Wayne didn't need to have told him, was the training the most important thing at this moment? What was important was the injured student that risked his life to go out of this academy to get foodstuff for the survival of everyone.

Captain Wayne ran over to meet them, and Hugo wasn't just gonna stay here and look? He wanted to know what caused the injury of the student, though it was most likely zombies, he still wanted to hear the story...so he ran over to meet them also. Apart from him, many of the students on the compound had already surrounded them to hear what caused the boy's injury.

The S class students were more worried, like, their fellow S class student has been badly injured? Captain Wayne inquired of the students assisting him to walk,

"What happened? What caused his injury?".

"He was scratched by two tier 2 zombies. As usual, we came across zombies while going and coming back to this academy, but when coming back, we came across a large number of zombies. They were really many, it was just like they were waiting for us. With these heavy bags in our backs, we had to fight,

In the process of fighting, he was scratched by two zombies, by that time, we had killed many of the zombies. Thank goodness we didn't come across tier 3 zombies, if not. He would have gotten bitten if not that we helped him". One of the male students explained.

There was a type of expression on everyone's faces after hearing the explanation. That expression of, 'Oh! this isn't a nice story, why did this happen?'. Captain Wayne kept silent for some seconds before voicing out once again,

"Are you sure he wasn't bitten?".

"No, he wasn't, we are sure of it". The guy uttered once again.

There was dissatisfaction on Captain Wayne's face, he wanted to confirm if the guy was truly bitten or not. If he happens to have been bitten without their knowledge, then there'll be serious problem. He glanced at one of the students positioned at the wall and said to him,

"Hand me the device, I've got to check myself, we have to be sure he isn't infected".

The moment Captain Wayne made that statement, many of the students glanced at him, like, is that what he should be concerned about right now? This guy was badly injured, he needs to be taken to the medical team so they'll work on his injury, the people that were good at handling things like this.

Apart from the blacksmiths, the carpenters, and the seamstresses, there were people with other skills. And part of the skills was people that were good at treating injuries. They were all adults though, all soldiers. Before the break out of the apocalypse, they were medical soldiers. Their part was to treat injured soldiers and defend themselves whenever they needed to.

And the thing was, they were all under Captain Wayne, he was their captain. And they had been helping out a lot with anything that concerns injury or illness in this academy. The students felt like what Captain Wayne was about to do wasn't fair, like, he got this injury while trying to get more foodstuff for everyone in this academy...but they understood why he was doing it.

If it happens to be that the guy was bitten, but the circulation of the infection around his body was slow, then everyone in this academy would be in danger. One bite would lead to another, and that's how it might keep on going. Their surviving all this while and their goal might just go to waste. That's why Captain Wayne wanted to be sure.

So though they think what he was doing wasn't fair, they understood the reason why he was doing it. Captain Wayne pressed the button on the device and put it close to the boy's neck, but it didn't make alarming sounds. He then put it close to the boy's right eye, but the case was the same, it didn't make alarming sounds.

He glanced at the two boys assisting him and said, "Take him to the medical team".
