Kayden's POV
I woke up alone in bed again.
But this time, instead of feeling hurt, I felt fine.
More than fine, actually.
I felt great.
My body felt light, my mind was clear, no pain, feeling sore here and there, yes, but no bad pain.
So this is how it felt after omega's heat being tended by their alphas.
There's evident lingering scent of Jay all over the room despite his absence, and the bed on his side was still warm.
He must've just left the house.
Searching for my phone to check on the notifications, I was pleasantly surprised to find a sticky note on it.
'The deadline of the project has been pushed forward so I have to go. Rest well.'
Oh, wow.
What a stoic note.
Just like the writer.
But it made me smile nevertheless.
Because it's handwritten.
And it's from Jay.
His neat handwriting was stare-worthy and that's what I did.
I stared into the note for so long, with a non-disappearing smile on my face before my stomach yelled for food.
