Chapter 16

THEY SAY that when you're in love, you have to be inspired in everything you do. Perhaps they were correct at that point. Because I was always happy and inspired every minute of my life when Felix and I were still together. He didn't cheat until I caught him. It shattered my world into a million pieces. It was the most heartbreaking experience I'd ever had.

I simply adore, but why does it appear that fate does not want me to be happy? Perhaps it is true that some people were afraid to be happy because fate would play on their emotions and hurt them.

You are inspired when you are in love. But what if your heart has been broken? You're a frozen corpse? Do you appear to be carrying half of the world's problems? Is that it?

If there's one thing I've learned from my broken relationship, it's to never give your entire self to someone, especially when there's no guarantee that you two will end up together. I mean, please make some room for yourself as well. Don't give your entire heart to your partner.

But it's possible that when you're in love, you'll give almost everything to the person you love. And in my case, for the time being, it will simply be more self-love.

And what about the anonymous message I received? How long has it been? It had been a week since Bella and I was in the park when I received it. The message was sent twice with the same content. Marriage certificate. But, for the second time, I ignored it because it was possible that they had sent it incorrectly the first time. I'm not sure.

But dang! When did I get married when I had just broken up with my boyfriend a few weeks before? Even worse, I don't have any suitors to entertain!

Who could I possibly marry? Tsk.

The finals are approaching, and Bella and I were burning our brows while studying for them. We were desperate to get out of that dreadful school and find work to support ourselves. At least, not for me. Bella has money because of her parents, even though she refuses to work. But, after all, it's her parents' money, not hers.

And, of course, finals are approaching, so we must return to school for a review session with our professors and complete the requirements. Oh, how I despise completion. Who wouldn't want to? Every final, one of our professors gave us a headache. They won't give us tasks if the finals are still a long way away, but they will give us workload tasks if the finals are getting close. And that is what we despise. Almost all of the students despise it.

"So, this time, you won't have an exam on my subject," our mid-forties professor announced, and the class erupted.

Of course, the subject that we will be discussing will be condensed. Some of our brain cells can still be saved.

“But…” Then the class was disappointed.

We all remember when our professors said that word.

"Instead, you will have a task in which each of you will work for at least one month on the company that I will assign to you. This task will serve as your final exam," our professor explained.

Some of my classmates lowered their shoulders in dismay, while others were pleased with the task mentioned. And I believe that's preferable, don't they think? Because that task will be our final exam, we won't be burning our brains reviewing so much information. So, yes, I'm in.

It was lunchtime when we were finally dismissed. Our professor stated that he will simply send us an email about the task that we will be performing for his subject. Some are dissatisfied, but they have no control over the situation. That is the final decision.

While Bella and I were chilling on the other side, I swear we were stressed on the inside.

"So... where will you be assigned in relation to the task?" Bella asked beside me before biting into her hamburger.

"Don't know yet," I shrug. He stated that he would simply send an email about it. So, how about you? " I turned to her because we had the same professor for our major subject and he also gave them that on-the-job task as their final exam."

I noticed her sighing deeply.

"I've already been given a hint that I'll be assigned to a hotel, tss. I'm not sure where yet. He'll also send us an email about the task," Bella said.

I look over at my best friend, who appears to be stressed.

"As far as I know, you wished deep down that you and your ultimate crush would be in the same location for the task. Tss," I said, rolling my eyes at her as she quickly turned her gaze to me, her eyes wide and her mouth gaping open.

“You! " she said as she pointed her finger at me and slowly shook her head at me. I couldn't stop laughing at her reaction. I'm familiar with her.

"I never wished that!" She denied it. "But I guessed it's better to just do this task rather than reviewing, right?" she recently sighed.” I sighed and nodded.

“Okay! I'm all in! " She exclaimed as if she was ready to complete the task regardless of the consequences.

"I'm all in!" I said, and we looked at each other and nodded, ready to face and complete the task assigned to us by our professor.

For the future!

We are prepared to do whatever it takes. We're almost there, and now is not the time to give up.

Bella and I were both prepared and determined to complete the task once and for all. It's a good thing Felix didn't show his face to me in school like he did the last time. The school is large, but I know him well enough that he will show his face to me in order to get what he wants.

But maybe this time he realizes I'm not coming back to him. That's fantastic. We both need to move on so that we are not bound by the past. It is entirely his fault that we have arrived at this point. Don't let him blame me for not returning to him.

If we go this route, it is preferable. I just hope he's focused on his finals rather than chasing after me or doing his monkey business.

Bella and I arrive at the condo shortly after 6 p.m. The dark had almost completely taken over the sky. We threw ourselves exaggeratedly at the long couch, breathing heavily.

"We didn't do much for this day, but I was exhausted. Isn't today long and tiring?" I overheard her say.

In a tired voice, I replied, "Yeah."

This day has been extremely exhausting. However, Bella and I didn't do much for this day because we only needed to compile a few requirements, unlike the others who rushed to complete theirs. Tss.

Tomorrow arrived, and Bella and I still had to go to campus. I sat on the couch, waiting for my best friend. When I looked at my phone to see what time it was, I noticed a notification appear on my screen. My professor had sent me an email. It's all about the task, I believe. My brows almost touched when I opened the email that had been sent to me.

I hadn't finished reading the email when the doorbell rang, so I went to check it out.

“Yes? " I inquired when I noticed a delivery boy.

"Are you Audrey?"

"Uh, yes?" I ask the delivery boy, perplexed.

"I have a delivery for you, Miss Audrey," he said, handing me a brown envelope.

"But what about the fact that I didn't order anything?" I inquired, perplexed.

"But it has your name on it, right?" he inquired, perplexed by my unexpected reaction.

My gaze shifted from the delivery boy to the envelope he handed me, where I noticed my name. I raised an eyebrow when I saw my name.

Okay?

"Please sign here," the boy said as he handed me a piece of paper and a ball pen, so I just signed it. Perhaps it's Bella, and she's just told them to name it after me.

I thanked the delivery boy, and he just smiled and thanked me before leaving. I'm still unsure what's inside the envelope. What could it possibly be?

:)
