Leo turned back to his laptop, fingers flying over the keys. "I'll keep digging. There has to be more we can use."
" Let me get some refreshments."
Rose muttered, as she used Rowan as her support to stand up, before heading to the kitchen.
Later that day, Mr. Katz sat in his dimly lit study, the tension in the room highly noticeable. He tapped his fingers impatiently on the mahogany desk, waiting for a call that would determine his next move. The phone rang, and he snatched it up immediately.
"Yes?" he barked into the receiver.
"It's done," a gruff voice responded on the other end. "The money is being moved as we speak. But there's a problem. Someone's been asking questions, digging into our operations."
Mr. Katz's face darkened. "Who?"
"We're not sure yet. But it's only a matter of time before they find something. Do check on your close circle too, especially your wife."
