A Talk With Mom(2)

However, before he could sit on his bed, he hears another knock on the door. But this is the signature knock of a particular person.

Vincent smiles and says, "I'm coming, mom."

The moment the words leave his mouth, he hastily sprays cologne inside his room because the odor of the black goo that came out of his body is still lingering in the air. After spraying the cologne, he rushes towards the door and opens it.

When he opens the door, he sees Amelina staring at him with a big smile on her face. She is wearing a brown robe and a white scarf is wrapped around her head. Her appearance is still the same, as she looks like she hasn't aged throughout the years.

"Don't just stare at me! Come and hug mommy ~" Amelina giggles and pulls Vincent into her embrace. At the same time, she enters his room and locks his door behind her.

Vincent is still resting his head on his mum's chest, he can feel her huge pair of marshmallows and nipples poking him, as she isn't wearing any bra. However, Vincent didn't have any perverted thoughts towards his mom.

Amelina and Vincent stay in the same awkward position without saying a single word for about a minute. Then, Amelina decides to break the silence, so she clears her throat and mumbles;

"Happy birthday, Vincent, I know that you will not want to celebrate your birthday this year because of what happened last week. And you also have a lot to tell mommy, since when did you acquire a mana core? Because I was in your room last night and you didn't have it then. But if you don't want to tell mommy, it's fine, mommy will understand. And about what occurred last week, I want you to get over it, okay? Now that you have a mana core, I'll send you to the mage academy along with Savina since I was given two slots there." Amelina mutters while she slowly pats Vincent's head and sits down on his bed while Vincent is still in her embrace.

Vincent tilts his head up a bit, as he hears his mother's words and he replies; "Mom~, you know, I'm still heartbroken about what happened last week, how could she!?" Vincent whimpers and fists his hands with his mother's robe.

Amelina's face twitches in anger when she hears her son lamenting, and veins began to protrude on her forehead.

"Vincent dear, I would have killed her on the spot if you hadn't pleaded with me to spare her life. I have always treated her like my own daughter, not like a slave. Even though she wasn't willing to marry you, she could have said so all these years! Why must it be on the day of the ceremony where thousands of people were gathered? I'm a bad mother for wanting to engage my son to a mere slave! I have told her to pack her belongings and never show her face around us again, you don't have to worry about being disturbed by her presence. Besides, I may even kill her out of anger if I keep seeing her face and end up breaking the promise I made to you" Amelina clenches her teeth as she is only restraining herself from butchering Hilda because Vincent insisted on sparing her life.

Vincent is astonished at his mother's decision to kick Hilda out. Even after what she did to him, he still feels conflicted about his feelings for her, thus, he does not know how to feel about his mother's decision. However, he can't question his mom's authority and he is sure that Hilda can live on her own since she is already a mage, a certified one that graduated from the mage academy of their kingdom. He sighs inwardly and hopes that he can meet her in the future so that he can find out the reason behind her actions.

"Mom, can you get me two maids?" Vincent suddenly asked.

Amelina's expression suddenly turns pale as Vincent asks for one of the things that she doesn't want him to ask. She swallows hard and replies; "W-why do you need maids? Are the butlers not doing their job properly? Tell me, Vincent, so that I can punish them!" Amelina asks in a serious tone and prays inwardly that Vincent will drop the idea of getting maids.

"No mom, the butlers are doing their job properly. However, I feel weird around them. I can't stand the idea of old grumpy men bowing their heads to me here and there and calling me young master" Vincent replies and decides to skip the part where the butlers mock him for his lack of talent. Vincent is only good at reading books in the library and sketching out maps and charts for people in return for money. To say the least, Vincent has a small business and is quite rich for a someone who has no skills in swordsmanship or mana core for magic, and this only served to make Zadicus and some other people enraged, as they can't imagine that a weakling can make such a huge amount of money at such a young age.

Amelina sighs deeply and decides to tell her son the truth as she sees that he isn't going to back down.

"Vincent, you see, I met your father 25 years ago. At that time, I had been abandoned by my previous husband with three kids. The truth is that he never died, but rather he fled after owing a ruthless merchant, a huge amount of money, leaving me stranded with three kids. Zadicus was 5 years old, Arthur was three, and Savina was just two months old at the time. The merchant kicked me and my children out of our house and sold it to cover his loss for my husband's debt. As a young woman, I was conflicted and in despair, as I slept on the streets with my little kids and an infant in my arms during the winter. It was such a bad experience that I couldn't take it anymore and decided to commit suicide. However, as I was about to slit my neck, inside the stable that I resided in with my children, a young man suddenly caught my hand and stopped me from killing myself. He was the most handsome man I have ever seen and thus, our journey began there. He married me with all my kids and took care of us, he was the most caring man in the world. We loved each other with no bounds and would do anything for each other. However, I couldn't conceive after our marriage, which always made me feel bad. After 7 years, I finally got pregnant with you and It was the happiest day of my life. I ran home to tell him the good news, however, I only met a letter at home informing me that he had gone to war with the neighboring kingdom that was trying to take over Graven.

He was a general, so he had to go. I waited for several months with a bulge in my stomach but he never sent any message. On a certain day, he was suddenly brought home with all his limbs missing, he was in a near-death condition. However, he insisted on seeing me before taking his last breath. He told me to get you engaged as soon as you were born, I didn't know the reason why he said that but I made a promise to him. He also gave me a second option if I failed to get you married before the age of 17 or else you might die as early as he had died, but I can't tell you now, Vincent. Now, that Hilda betrayed you, I can't tell you the second option because your broken mind might not be able to process everything and it would be a very shameful thing. Because he insists on you taking over all of his legacy and everything he left behind. I-I think I have to go now~" Amelina mumbles as tears roll down her cheeks. She separates herself from Vincent and kisses him on his forehead, before leaving his room in a haste with tears in her eyes.

Vincent sees his mother leaving in tears and begins to feel bad for her, he also becomes more curious about his father. His mother has never shown him any pictures of him and she always avoids talking about it anytime he asks, which further confuses him.

He shakes his head and lays down on his bed, seemingly pondering over a thought.

.....

Meanwhile, while Amelina walks out of Vincent's room, her heart races and beats rapidly.

"Lancelot, now that our son has failed to get married before 17, I'm about to carry out the second option you gave me. This is a very shameful thing, Lancelot, must he also claim me. I'm his mother for God's sake! how will he look at my face when he learns about the fetishes of your family, he doesn't even have an erection when feeling my breasts. My poor son~" Amelina clenches her fists and cries as she walks towards her own room.

At the same time, Someone is silently watching Amelina walk out of her son's room with tears in her eyes.
