Chapter 16: Servants of the Realm

The two men continued to maintain their tenuous position in the tree, looking at Raymond as if he was something they shouldn’t interact with unless absolutely necessary. Of the two, it was the elf that seemed the most comfortable, maneuvering himself so he was situated on a nearby tree branch. Putting his weight on his haunches, he looked ready to just sit and observe as his friend continued his useless sword brandishing.

Janesca stalked over with a scowl then, although it didn’t escape his notice that she was walking with a more reserved gait this time around. While her sword was still in her firm grip, its slightly lowered position made her look like she was more likely to chew them out verbal instead of charging in with violence. She looked at Raymond for a second in slight trepidation, taking in his lowered ears as the tipped themselves towards the back of his head.
