Chapter 06

It was long enough that Calvino had been lost in his own thoughts. The sound of approaching footsteps made Calvino turn his head. Graceful footsteps in tandem with body curves that looked sexy and seductive got closer.

If only Calista knew that a pair of brown eyes had been staring at her intensely, she surely would scream hysterically. Unfortunately, she didn't know, so she walked gracefully until she sat on a chair at the far end of the room.

Calvino also had no intention of getting closer except to observe a beautiful face from a distance not too far away.

"Earl... Earl... You're beautiful, sexy, and seductive, but what a shame to be stubborn." Said Calvino in a low voice, sounding muttering. Meanwhile, Calista leaned her head on the back of the chair with her eyes closed.

Calvino's footsteps approached, observing his sister's beauty closer. He then leaned his hands on the side of the chair with his face close so that one kiss of affection landed on Calista's forehead.

Calista reflexly gasped. At the same time, she immediately threw a punch at the man who had presumptuously stained her forehead.

Undoubtedly, the heavy blow she had thrown made Calvino's body stagger backward. Calista gasped, even more, when the one she hit was her own twin brother.

"Calvin..."

"Auch," Calvino groaned while rubbing his left eye.

"I didn't expect that your slender hands could hit so hard." Said Calvino in a slightly raised voice.

"It hurts, right? let me see if your eyes bleed or not,"

"It's not just hurt, Earl," Calvino growled, mixed with a rough grip on Calista's hand.

"Ugh, you chicken! I think you're a tough man, but you lost to a girl." Calista sneered.

"Listen, Miss Kafeel. If your attack wasn't sudden, then I could have dodged it easily. You've always been selfish and want to win yourself."

"It's your fault that you surprised me. After all, since when did you come, huh? Why didn't you tell me that you wanted to come to Indonesia?" Calista replied with a glare.

"Oh, now I know. So, this very handsome son of Kafeel, who many women love, is deliberately trying to spy on me, huh? Answer me!" Calista added.

"You silly! It looks like I have to operate your beautiful brain so that the germs lodged in your brain are clean." Calvino taunted Calista while smacking her head.

No doubt, Calista immediately groaned in pain.

"Don't be ridiculous, Earl. I know how hard I hit you."

Hearing her brother's sarcastic voice made Calista pursed her lips inward.

"You're annoying! You didn't come and tell me. Now you're just acting like…"

"Should I tell you?" Calvino cut Calista's word.

"You have to. At least if you tell me, then I can pick you up."

"That's not necessary. There's Kenan." Said Calvino with complete refusal.

'Really annoying!' Calista was upset. She even folded her lips.

"Don't fold your lips like this again, dear Earl," Calvino replied, combined with an exasperated pinch on Calista's cheek.

No doubt, that pinch made Calista groan in pain. "Ugh, you always pinch my cheeks. It hurts, you know!" Calista snapped, combined with bulging eyes that almost popped out of its place.

As if indifferent to his sister's protest, Calvino's hands wrapped around Calista's neck casually.

"Just tell me why you arrived at the apartment at this hour, huh?"

"I was working. Why did you ask?"

"I didn't mean anything, sweetheart. Oh, yeah, where's your friend?" Calvino asked while rolling his eyes.

"What's her name?" He added, combined with a raised eyebrow.

"Kiara."

"Hm, Kiara. Where is she?"

Calista's gray eyes silhouette squinted, combined with a furrowed brow. "Why did you ask about Kia?"

"Earl, I just want to know. What's the harm?"

Calista shrugged her shoulders. "Who knows you will do weird things,"

Calvino's gaze sharpened.

'Don't worry, dear Earl. I won't do anything except... If that woman named Kiara Larasati drags you into danger. And if that happens, don't blame me if you don't like my actions.' Calvino muttered under his breath.

Knowing what her brother was thinking, Calista immediately showered Calvino with sarcastic words.

"Don't you dare do things, let alone touch Kiara! She's my best friend, and I've loved Kia like I love my own sister."

"You are so outrageous, Earl. I'm not a criminal. How dare you say such cruel words."

"Who can guarantee Calvino Luz Kafeel…" Calista deliberately paused after receiving a glare from her brother.

Not wanting to get involved in a long debate, she immediately walked downstairs, leaving her brother who was still staring intently at her departure.

After Calista's departure, Calvino sat back down on the long chair, and at that moment, Kenan came. "Excuse me, sir."

"Hmm," Calvino replied, combined with a sharp glance. Kenan immediately followed him into the workroom.

Unfortunately, Calista was also there. Her gaze instantly sharpened at her brother and Kenan, who was right behind Calvino.

"Is there something important that you want to talk about that brought Kenan here?"

Calvino approached Calista and showered the top of her head with affectionate caresses. "You know better than I thought, Earl."

"Then?" Calista asked by raising her face as if to challenge her brother.

Calvino also brought his face closer rhythmically in a whisper. "Come out and wait for me in the lounge. Don't go anywhere before I finish the meeting with Kenan!"

Calista rolled her gray silhouette in displeasure. "You always dominate with your arrogance. You're no different from Daddy."

"Hey, listen, dear Earl. You shouldn't compare me to Dad."

"Like it or not, that's the truth, Mr. Calvino."

Calvino seemed to rub his face roughly. His gaze sharpened on his sister, asking her to leave the room immediately.

Unfortunately, Calista didn't seem to understand Calvino's gaze, so she looked relaxed when treated to his brother's attitude.

"Earl, come out for a moment! There is something that I need to discuss with Kenan."

"What's the important thing that you will discuss with Kenan that I don't know, huh?"

Calvino rubbed the top of Calista's head affectionately.

"Earl, this is my company matter in Dubai, so your presence here will be useless because whatever I explain to you, you won't understand."

Calista immediately got up from her seat. At the same time, she brought her face closer to her brother.

"Don't fool me, Calvin. Don't forget one thing that we are twins. Even without saying it, we can feel each other. And ..." Calista deliberately paused her words combined with a sharp look full of threats.

"Don't ever think about harming my best friend, Kiara Larasati!" Calista threatened before leaving the room by slamming the door behind her.
