Chapter 10

The morning light peeked shyly through the window blinds, sweeping a warm, beautiful face like a Greek goddess. It greeted Calista warmly along with melodious whispers.

--

Hi, Earl...

Come on, open your eyes!

Accompany your breath with my warmth.

Welcome your morning with my smile.

And... Fill my day with your laughter.

--

Yes, that was the greeting from the sun that managed to make a pair of gray silhouettes open. At the same time, the owner of those gray silhouettes stretched her body and the muscles that were starting to stiffen due to an uncomfortable sleeping position.

She instantly flinched when one arm touched something cold. She then turned her face to look directly at the brown silhouettes that showered her with warmth.

"Good morning," Calvino greeted Calista with the best smile.

Instead of answering, Calista covered her face with her palms. Meanwhile, Calvino looked indifferent by spreading his hands on the back of the sofa.

"Get up and take a shower. You smell awful, Earl."

Calista's lips pursed up a few inches forward. "That sucks! No one in this world dares to insult me except you. You're annoying!" She snapped at the last word.

She then got up. Her footsteps were accompanied by irritation that was still shackled.

"You're an adult but still act like a child." Calvino cursed at no one because his sister had sunk between the bedroom doors.

Now, Calvino was alone in the living room. He stretched his stiff muscles, especially in the back.

"Auch..." He moaned as he tried to flex his back and neck muscles.

'Shitttt, it's all because of you, Earl. You spoiled brat!' Calvino cursed. Apart from swearing, his sturdy lips carved an amused smile at his sister's attitude, which he thought was very spoiled and adorable.

"If there were 2 Earls in this world. I would definitely make one of them my lover." He whispered in tandem with the footsteps towards his favorite room. He then roughly slammed his body onto the king-size bed.

"Huh, really comfortable," He whispered.

Suddenly, his phone rang. He immediately glanced to see who the caller was. It turned out it was Lenata's name that seemed to adorn the screen.

"It's still early, Lena. What else do you want?" He growled with his eyes tightly closed.

To be honest, he was reluctant to pick up the call, so he just ignored it. Unfortunately, his girlfriend didn't give up either. As a result, his phone rang for the umpteenth time.

He exhaled a heavy breath slowly before talking with his beloved lover over the phone.

"Hello, honey," He made his tone as gentle as possible.

Unfortunately, that didn't make Lenata reply to him warmly either. Instead, he received various sarcastic-sounding questions that made his ears heat up instantly.

He forced the phone away from his ear for a moment.

'What a possessive girlfriend!' He cursed.

"Why are you silent, huh? Where have you been last night? Be careful if you do things in Indonesia!"

"Nothing." The answer was indifferent.

"I'll never forgive you if you…"

"Lena, listen. All your accusations are completely unfounded."

"Then, why didn't you pick up my call, huh?" Lena asked.

"Last night, I slept in the living room with Earl. I left the phone in the room. Trust me."

"I'm not a kindergartner that you can just fool, Mr. Calvino Luz Kafeel."

The patience that Calvino had been trying to hold in all this time had run out, so he subconsciously snapped.

"Then what do you want, huh?"

"Give Earl the phone! I need to confirm it in person."

'Shittt, Why is Lenata so outrageous? Calvino was upset.

"Why are you silent, huh?" Lenata snapped.

"Earl is taking a shower," Calvino replied, annoyed.

"Can't you hear me, Calvin? Give the phone to Earl!" Lena snapped in a rising voice. Her voice really made Calvino's ears ring.

Not wanting to continue to be involved in endless fights, Calvino immediately walked out of the room.

"EARL!"

"Ugh, why are you screaming? It's still early in the morning to make a fuss." Calista was upset.

"Speak!" Calvino handed the phone into Calista's hands.

Meanwhile, Calista rolled her eyes as if to say, 'who is this?' While swinging the phone in the air.

Calvino approached rhythmically in a whisper.

'Fussy lady," Short, concise, and clear were the words that came out of his lips before walking away from Calista.

'Who was the fussy lady?' Calista thought with a frown that almost made her eyebrows come together.

"Is it possible that Calvin meant the fussy, Mom?"

'What an ungrateful child! How could he call Mom such a pathetic name?' She continued in her heart. And at the same time, she immediately picked up the call. "Hello, Mom?"

Being called Mom has made someone on the other side squint their eyes.

"Hello, Earl. It's me... Why did you just call me Mom? How can I become your Mom?" Lena's voice sounded sinister, tickling Calista's ears.

Calista gasped. 'So, this is Lenata?' She whispered in her heart.

"Uh, sorry, Len. I thought Mom wanted to talk to me. After all, your boyfriend didn't tell me it was you." Said Calista, trying to defend herself.

"It sucks, but he's your twin." Lenata was upset.

Calista's gray silhouette looked twisted. Inevitably, the attitude of Lenata and her brother led her to various questions that began to rage.

"Em, don't tell me you two are fighting."

"No, who said we were fighting? Your twin and I are fine."

"Don't lie, Belen!"

"Why would I lie, Earl?"

Unfortunately, even the slightest lie would never escape Calista's attention, so Lenata was forced to speak the truth.

Exhalation of tired breath accompanied the roar of Calista's breath. At the same time, the real story was revealed.

"Listen, Belen. Throw away your negative thoughts about my brother. Everything you accuse is completely untrue. Calvin is famous for the worst emotions. However, you need to know one thing that he is a very loyal type of man."

'I know that, Earl. I shouldn't have suspected your brother.' Lenata thought with regret for having made accusations without evidence.

"Um, can you reconnect with Calvin?" Lenata asked hesitantly.

"Hm. Apologize!"

"Hmmm."

Unfortunately, it didn't happen. No one knew what the man was doing in the bathroom. He's been there for a long time.

"Em. Sorry, Len. Can you call in a few minutes?"

"Calvino must be still angry, huh?"

"No, how can Calvin be angry with you for a long time?"

"So what?"

Calista immediately came out of Calvino's room while lowering her voice so that it sounded like a whisper.

"Em, it looks like Calvin is doing the morning ritual."

"Huh?"
