For a majority of the rest of the evening, Damon, Adelaide, and Lucinda discussed the upcoming war and multiple methods of attack; however, the only one that ever stuck (although Damon hoped it wouldn’t) was their original plan. No matter how many times he tried to casually push it aside, they always ended up in the same place, and it terrified him. 


Night had already taken over from dusk as Damon entered his room and removed his jacket, tossing it onto the bed post. He was still unable to wrap his head around the idea of purposefully placing Adelaide and all of the other members of the Royal Shift in harms way. On their journey, he had already encountered two beings with Kal’s songs, and if they were that powerful on their own…he was horrified at the prospect of meeting the original source. If he messed up even once, or missed his opportunity…
