When I stepped out of the stall, the last person I wanted to see stood there, waiting like the creep he was.
Sir young, blond, and noble brother. I'd already forgotten his name.
I frowned, even as I stepped aside for the soldier I'd healed.
"Thank you, miss," he said, with a deep bow. "Thank you. I...I don't even know your name."
"It's not important," I said lightly. "Just keep that a secret, okay?"
"Yes. Always."
He then bowed to noble blond, giving his salutations as a soldier should to nobility, and, apparently, his commander. Blond brother nodded, told him to continue on with whatever he was doing, and set his attention to me before I could even think of sneaking off.
The soldier gave one more bow of gratitude and then marched off, his head high and a new light to his eyes.
"You can say such wonderful things, Miss Lillian," said whatshisface.
I stiffened. "It's rude to ease drop."
"Relax, I only heard the last bit. I lingered here for a few seconds, at most."
