The world looked almost like a dream land. Everything was sort of blurry and gray around the edges. Jonah could no longer see the cat anywhere but thankfully Nick was still by his side. It was noisy, as if the wind was howling around them but nothing seemed to be moving.
“Now what?” Jonah shouted.
“Well it’s a river right? With that guy? I guess we go until we find it,” Nick answered with a shrug. The two of them marched out into the wilderness.
It was hard to see more than a few feet in front of them. Their surroundings seemed to be ever changing and covered in gray. It all looked the same and yet nothing was familiar.
Jonah was sure they had been walking for several hours but he felt nothing: not tired, not hungry or thirsty. No sensations all at. Clearly, things happened differently in the underworld.
“I feel like we’ve been just walking around in circles,” he muttered, crossing his arms over his chest.
