Mazakin stood up quickly and Jonah could see her stiffening at Joel’s answer. Jonah stood up and looked at the curious expression on his face.

“Are you sure?” she questioned in a flat voice. Nick stood up quickly and was at her side in an instant.

“It’s been almost 24 hours, he gave an answer and you want to ask him to think about it more?” Nick crossed his arms over his chest. Joel huffed and rolled his eyes.

“Yes, I’m sure,” he answered.

“How can that be your decision?” she practically demanded.

“Mazakin,” Jonah started to interrupt but he felt like he knew what she was feeling and thinking. “Are you asking him to change his mind?”
