Chapter 21: The Invites

“I am never there for you. I cannot believe that b*tch did that to you in front of everyone!” Hannah had a look that could cut through steel right now.

“She’s my curse,” I said and handed Hannah an extra water bottle. We had the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving break, which could not have come at a better time.

Hannah plopped onto the trampoline that was nestled in her backyard.

“She’s obsessed with you in such a weird way. It’s only gotten worse since you and Chase have been hanging out more,” Hannah said, taking a sip of her water.

“Yeah, well, whatever. I feel like I should thank him again for helping me with my skirt and giving me a ride home. My mom seemed to like him too, which was surprising,” I said. The weather was getting cooler, and there was a lovely fall breeze drifting our way.

“Mm, I would have loved to have seen that encounter. Was he all badass or quiet as a mouse?” Hannah laughed.
