Chapter 26: Someone Needs a Tutor

I finished reading another romance novel before hitting my locker. It was great to pass the time and ignore my stress over telling Chase the truth and the fact that my mom was dating my teacher. I told myself I would do it today. I needed to stick to this. I could not let it go on anymore.

My hand fell to my skirt to check the hem my mom had sewn in weeks ago. It was in there tight, but I got nervous it would come undone until we could get a new one. Mom was putting in extra hours and said she was up for an early promotion since one of her superiors left.

“Whoa! What did you say? Was it awkward when he walked in? Did he dress like a normal guy, or did he wear his sweater vest?” Hannah asked. She had been asking questions all morning since I told her my mom was dating Mr. Brad, and they weren’t slowing down anytime soon.
