Chapter 59: Lunchtime Chatter

Today's lunch special was meatloaf, which was so weird to me. I couldn’t imagine what is in it or why they called it special, but it was anything but that. I skipped the mainline and grabbed two oranges, a yogurt, and a bottle of water. Chase piled up on the questionable loaf.

"Hey, there's Luke," Hannah said as Luke stood up and waved us over.

"Hey man." Chase and Luke fisted bump, and we sat down. Most of the tables were full, so it was nice to get a small rounder table for the four of us. Luke took a big gulp of his soda and burped, waving it in Hannah's face.

"Gross," she said and scooted her chair a little over to the other side.

"Hey, guys, I heard the new girl was getting bothered again this morning by Courtney and her band of cronies," Luke said, shoveling some food in his mouth.

"Yeah, they don't know when to let up, but this time was kind of different," Hannah said.

"How?" he asked.
