Chapter 64: Courtney's Apology

Walking into school the next day wasn't as difficult as I expected. The usually crowded hallways were sparse. They were not completely empty, but plenty of students were missing.

"This kind of feels like a ghost town, doesn't it? Boo!" Hannah joked as she walked up to me. Her bag was slung over her shoulder, and she seemed more relaxed.

"You seem chipper," I pointed out, getting a kick out of her enthusiasm while also being concerned at how happy she seemed to be given everything that had happened.

"Well, yeah. Teachers are way more relaxed when the classes aren't full. This is fabulous. Thank you, Julie!" Hannah shouted. A few people passed by, giving her dirty looks.

"Okay, well, dang, keep it down. It's not exactly a party right now," I said, looking around at the people watching us, quickly returning back to their business.
