Chapter 63: A Great Idea

"I can't believe today even happened," I said to Chase as he took me home on his bike. He nodded.

"Today wasn't typical, but at least we got out of chemistry." He smiled and looked over at me. I was probably making a funny face, even though I knew he was joking.

"Oh cool, mom is home," I said as he pulled into the driveway. Her car was parked right in front of the bike. The second I opened the door, my mom rushed over to me.

"Oh my god! Aria, are you okay?" She ran up to me. Mom looked pretty. Her red hair was up in a bun with a few strands hanging down the side, and her freckles were even more pronounced. She was in a pencil skirt and a nice deep-purple blouse with heels. I hoped I could look like her as I got older.

"What?" I asked, looking confused. Chase looked at me and seemed to be unfazed.

"What do you mean? Brad called! There was a girl with a weapon!" she shouted while pulling me in for a hug.
