It was prom season, which meant everyone around us was going crazy with "prom proposals." Love was stuffed down everyone's throats. Usually, this was the time that I would avoid people altogether. However, I had a boyfriend now—one who recently saw me completely naked. I hated that my mom got there when she did. At least a few more minutes would have been nice.
"So, has Chase asked you yet?" Hannah asked.
"He might just assume you two are going together," Julie suggested. I shrugged.
"I mean, we are. I don't need a big thing, really," I said, but I didn't mean it. Yes, I was in love with love. After all, I want to be a romance writer more than anything, but my friends knew me all too well.
"Yeah, you are a big liar," Hannah said, nudging me.
"Seriously, you carry around romance books like their life or death. There is no way you haven't thought about dancing with Chase at prom a million times," Julie called me out.
