"No!" I said, my face still buried in her neck. "I don't care what they think! I don't care what will happen! All I want is you."

I decided to head to the meeting place early, but I stopped by the river rather than going to the park. It is not far from where I was to meet Triton. I didn't fully know why, but I wanted to see if my mate was near.  


I could not shake the odd feeling I had about meeting Triton. I thought about his odd behavior towards me, and I wondered what made him change his mind about meeting up with me. 


If he were a normal boy (every part of me screamed that he was not), I would have simply assumed whatever girl he fancied before did not want him. So he was coming after the sweet girl. 


But, this just did not seem to be what was happening. I don't think he would have a romantic interest in me because we are enemy pack members. Actually, we were even more than this. We were the children of our pack's alphas. This made the whole situation even stranger. No way he would entertain any romantic ideas about me.
