When they had left, Nolan was alone with Walsh in the camper van. They were awaiting backup to go over to the mayor's home. The Sheriff had a theory that since the council was dead and gone, Marcel Knight could be in danger. But aside from that, they also needed to calm the crew of people on the crime scene. They had grown frantic and wanted out.

What Nolan had just witnessed with Declan Meruda was enough to tell him that supernaturals had already started turning up in the city as fast as cartoons. The Sheriff's idea of waiting didn't seem so smart to him anymore.
