Something Stronger

Lucas Brennan practiced with his father in the court behind their home. At the next school game, scouts would be there and many had reached to his father about their interests in him. He had his eyes set on Stanford, but the others gunning for him were a plus. Lucas wanted to make his father proud no matter what. After his mother died of breast cancer four years ago, it was him and his old man.

Samuel Brennan took coaching his son to his heart. He would do anything to make Lucas live on with the legacy he never had as a football player. He made sure Lucas didn't get distracted with school work or playing. Lucas practiced day in, day out for the big win ahead.

"Keep tossing, boy. Coach Bradly just sent a mail. I'll be right back." Samuel jogged off the court and disappeared into their home through the back door.
