Quinn together with Avelin and Jarvis arrived at the Dungeon Association where everyone was already waiting including the other elves.
When Quinn got there, he saw Mark and Michael together with two tied up adventurers who had the exact same look of fear on their faces and didn't dare to move even an inch. Around them were some curious adventurers who wanted to join in.
Michael glanced at Quinn and a momentarily slipped out a burst of fighting intent but was quicky suppressed. Quinn noticed this since he knew this was basically fighting it out with Sumi for the second place so he ignored it and would only respond when he completely defeats Sumi.
Quinn quickly asked about the specific situation and after learning of everything, his expression turned serious. He glanced at Mark and asked, "Aside from being a witness and nearly becoming a victim, you said you had evidence?"
"Yes, Lord Quinn. I'm a livestreamer so it's already a habit to turn on the livestream whenever I'm somewhere new. My livestream caught everything that happened and it wasn't just me who were watching but also the hundreds of thousands who were watching the livestream."
Quinn was surprised for a moment learning that livestreamers still existed even now but he quickly returned to being serious. "This is the very first crime committed in the town that is this serious." He then sighed and continued, "I wasn't really expecting a completely peaceful territory but I still can't help but hope so. That's why I even tried to make everyone happy to avoid more conflicts."
Michael's eyes flashed for a moment before saying slowly, "Lord Quinn, it doesn't work like that. Wherever there's people, there is bound to be conflict especially since everyone has their own ideas. Only when everyone will share the same thought that true peace could be achieved." Michael's eyes glinted sharply before he waited for Quinn's reply.
Quinn sighed once more in disappointment before saying, "You're right. It's just that I had a fantasy that I would be able to pull it off with my strength."
Michael pondered over those words and replied, "Indeed, with strength, you can do anything."
Quinn's eyes then landed on the criminal duo who had always been watching them with fearful expressions. He thought for a moment and decided to build a prison once and for all. He'll also probably build the town's own security force led by the elves and also Elizar when they're busy.
For now, they'll focus on the prison. Of course, it couldn't be an ordinary prison because it would mainly contain adventurers who were stronger than average people. Also, it had to have something to scare away people from doing crimes.
In the end, Quinn had managed to come up with something. He quickly made the blueprint for it decided to build it in an isolated but secure corner of the town.
Now, the prison contained special jail cells that had the ability to completely seal off themselves to the outside world and drain prisoners' of 0.2% of their mana everyday. The mana lost didn't sound like much but everyday, the mana drained would accumulate and the prisoners would have no choice but to watch their mana flow away.
Don't think that this is too less because they could just recover the lost mana when they get out. There is a chance to gain permanent mana loss as long as one stayed inside long enough. Losing mana in this world dominated by magic is pretty much equal to losing your life.
In addition, it was very difficult to escape since the cells were all individually sealed off to the outside world. It wouldn't be wrong to say that each cell is at a different space.
After taking notes of the prison's information, he forwarded it to every adventurer in the town in hopes of deterring them from commiting any serious crime or just any crime in general.
Quinn then glanced at the two murderers and said, "Bring them. Put them inside their own cells."
Michael lifted up the two with ease and followed Quinn to the cells. Quinn opened two and signalled for Michael to throw them in which Michael did... literally.
Quinn looked on speechlessly as the two landed with a thud. He glanced at Michael who just snorted, "Hmph, they deserve it."
Quinn just nodded and turned around to leave. All the others were about to leave too when Michael suddenly turned around and looked at the cells where the two murderers were placed at.
The others were startled by his actions and also turned around to see what alerted him. Inside the cells, they were surprised to see that the originally distorted faces of the two due to fear had disappeared and was replaced by vacant expressions and empty eyes.
This piqued Quinn and the other's curiosity so they quickly walked closer towards them. However, the two still didn't show any other emotion and just blankly stared into the void.
Just as Quinn opened the cell doors, the expressions on their faces switched at a fast speed and the look of fear suddenly returned. Quinn froze before he could quickly open the door fully. He then closed it again and the blank faces returned.
Michael quickly asked Quinn, "Lord Quinn, is the prison you built also special like all the buildings you built?"
Quinn nodded but then an uncertain expression appeared on his face, "Yes, but I don't see anything about wiping out someone's emotion when being locked up in here. Huh, but there is a description here saying that the prison is like a different space completely sealed away from the outside world."
A look of realization emerged on Michael's face as he said, "What a scary ability. This will probably scare every criminal away since they will have no chance of escaping once they enter."
"Indeed, let's hope that's what happens." Quinn really wanted to make his territory the most peaceful place on the planet but he knew that even with his strength that would be really hard to achieve.
