Chapter 8

Lily wanted to know more about him.

He was an enigma and she had always been terribly curious about puzzles.

So she made it a point to linger near the prince whenever she had the capability to. This meant popping into the library to find him reading a book beside an open window with a cup of blood-tea—something he seemed to make a nightly ceremony of. It meant servicing his room like a housekeeper. Washing his clothes, cleaning his sheets—things the other consorts didn’t do.

He found her behavior strange, and Lily knew it. But if she was going to be giving this man her blood for the rest of eternity, she wanted to know just who he was.
