There was a long silence, and everyone’s eyes were on Nate, awaiting his reaction.

"No, sweetie-we’ve been engaged for a year now, we’re just going to officially tie the know and Larry and his family is going to move in and I’m also pr-"

Nate stood up, almost knocking his chair down.

"Sit down Nate." Larry said and Nate shot him a death stare.

"Don’t you fucking tell me what to do. You’re not my father. You’ll never be my father."

He turned to his mum. "It’s either him or me."

Katherine was close to tears but Nate didn’t care. He turned around and we heard him run up the stairs and slamming the door.

She put a hand over her mouth and closed her eyes for a second, before she opened them again, exhaling.

"I’m sorry you had to see that." Larry said and I shrugged.
