40. Dinner is served.
"Welcome both of you, this is your as house too Alexa, do not forget that, please come in," she said to both of them.
They came in and saw Bryan's grand Dad.
"Honey here comes Bryan and Alexa, they are here now so we can have dinner," she said smiling at her husband who was standing at the entrance of the dinning room.
"Good evening grand dad, how are you?" Bryan said.
"I am fine my boy, hope you are good?" Grand daddy said.
"I am OK thank you for asking," Bryan replied.
"Hello Sir, how do you do?" Alexa said as she slowly moved to him.
"Hello Alexa, I am doing very well as you can see my wife takes good care of me, as I presume you too take good care of our boy here," Mr Kenwood said as he smiled.
"I try my best sir, but actually he takes much good care of me," Alexa said smiling at Bryan's grand parents.
"That is good my dear, It is his job. Dinner is served ,"grand mother said.
They all laughed and approached the dinning hall and Bryan and his grandfather pulled out chairs for the ladies as they sat.
"Thank you," they both said to their husbands.
Rosita came in with other maids and they started serving and pouring the wine into their glasses.
"Hello Rosita, how are you?" Bryan asked Rosita who has been like another mother to him when he grew at the mansion.
"I am fine young master," Rosita replied.
"Rosita this looks lovely," said grand pa. "Oh it was Mrs Veronica's idea, I was just there to assist her, she knows that the young master loves all these dishes, so we had to make them for him and hope the young Lady here loves it too," Rosita said smiling politely as she looked at Alexa.
"I am sure I Will Rosita, the meal loves beautiful and I have not yet tasted it but I am sure it will fast amazing, thank you," Alexa said smiling too as she stared at the meal and Rosita.
This was how the rich ate, the whole table covered with all manner of delicacies and most she did not know their names but she was sure happy to try them out. They were mouth watering.
"OK Everyone let us eat, you can go now Rosita thank you," Mrs Veronica said.
"Excuse me madam," Rosita takes her leave.
They started to try out the meals set there on the table, they had chicken, rice, salad, baked potato, barley soup, shrimps and beef combo sauce, pasta and curry sauce, roasted salmon and lemon chicken, sweet potato vegetarian chilli. They had red wine, champagne and water by the sides too.
The table was not just colorful but the aroma that filled the room was lovely, the smell of chicken was what Alexa loved the most.
Whenever she had fold served like this, she wished her family could enjoy all she was enjoying as well especially the chicken, Jerry would eat a whole bowl if allowed to. It was one of his favourite as well.
"How is the company son?" grand pa asked Bryan as they were enjoying their meal.
Bryan looked at his grand mother with the eye of 'I did not want to come here because he would bother me with work talks'. His grand mom just smiled at him and gave him the eye of 'go ahead son."
"Work is fine Sir. Today I closed the deal with the Brazilians and we will be signing all necessary and final paperwork at the company on Monday morning," Bryan replied.
"That is very good, but why did you not just do everything today? why push till Monday or you were not ready with the paper works and just said that so you could delay or waste more time is that it?" grand pa said in a tune and manner that Bryan did not like at all.
"Well I just felt it would be better to finalize the deal in an office environment and that will be happening on Monday and they all agreed grand father," Bryan replied with a kissed up tune in his voice.
"Well if you say so, but I feel you should have convinced them to just do all that with you today and face other deals next week instead if dragging an old one into a new week," grand pa continued to suggest.
"I know that but it was..,"Bryan was trying to explain as soon as he saw his grand mom's face telling him not to argue and he quickly stopped.
"Well I understand grandfather," Bryan said and stopped talking.
"This is not a work dinner Peter, I have always told you to learn to take it easy with Bryan, he is doing very well and you know it, stop pushing him so hard and let us just have a good family time please my love," grand ma said holding her husband's hands on the table.
"You always sound as if I do not love him, Bryan I love you, I just want you to be the best and always know that you are the CEO of the Kenwood enterprises but still you can always count on me for anything as far as the company and other businesses are concerned OK?" grandpa said to Bryan.
Bryan looked at his grand father and smiled a bit and told his grand Father he loved him too but as grand mom said he would prefer that they argue less.
"How are you my dear? sorry you had to witness this whole talk between Bryan and his grand father, they are always like that," Veronica said to Alexa.
"It is not a problem Ma'am, I understand," Alexa said.
"I want to use this dinner to tell you Alexa that even though Bryan is busy working, you could come here anytime, we could have a nice relationship and talk and get to know more about each other. I would love that so much, would you not?
