Another boy dreamed of becoming an engineer. He said he idolized his uncle. He is also good at mathematics so the family encouraged him to take this path. So that's what happened. This kid is Zack. At a very young age he had already experienced the hardships of life. He had already seen how difficult it was to earn money. In his heart and mind Zack formed his dream of becoming an engineer. Zack loves numbers. He just enjoys it as he sharpens his brain more and more in solving every problem in this subject. 5 years later, Zack also achieved his long -held dream, to become an Engineer. In fact, A licensed engineer. Zack's entire family was overjoyed at his success. In his mind he said "This is what we have been waiting for. This is the answer to our poverty". Zack was born with intelligence, he achieved his dream by getting scholarships from well -known philanthropists in the Philippines. Seven years later, Zack met one of his former classmates, who is also an engineer.
"Zack! Dude, damn how long has it been?", The two high-fived at each other.
"Gerald, wow! You look good, in a suit! Where are you going?"
Gerald smiled broadly at the friend.
"In my new Company, how are you? Where are you going?"
"Looking for a job dud0e, it's hard now because of the pandemic. There aren't many job openings."
"Why? What happened? Weren't you still in ****** enth Corp.? I can't afford your rate as of the moment."
"I'm leaving again", Zach scratched his head a little.
As you can see, Zach thought when you were already a professional. You will be happy and successful. What he didn't know, Success is so much more complicated to achieve than that. You were taught things in school that would make you feel better. Things that will motivate you to move on and dream about life. But this is not the answer. What if you are no longer motivated? What if you were only five hours a day motivated? What if you're just motivated when someone pushes you? Why did Zack switch jobs? Because he thought being a civil engineer was like being a student studying this course. Zack was shocked when his first day on the job, he was suddenly left on site to command the people there on the project they were working on. Zack didn't use almost everything he studied. His scientific calculator, which was the latest from Casio, can only be used to compute linear measurements and volumes. It went far beyond his expectations. if you want a job, you will definitely last. Even with whatever problems you face with it. Sometimes a matter of life and death even happens.
If only schools had just studied and planned to share with students stories like the well -known Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musks, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and many others. Not as motivation but as knowledge. Each of the students will be more open minded and will be obsessed with improvement. This is what we want to achieve to change our lives. Not just motivation. Knowledge. Real knowledge that will really make us grow to what we really want to be.
If only Zack had read Mark Manson's book "Subtle art of not giving a f*ck" earlier he would have valued more the negative things that come with being a full -fledged engineer. He would have been more open to change and not changed jobs even if his job was not what he expected. If Zack had read Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" Zack would have learned what the true value of money is and how to multiply it. He could have had his own company like his friend Gerald. And many more other books from successful people. Who else has read these books? Most are entrepreneurs. The rich get richer because of habits. Habits that can be passed on to the next generation of your future family. Taught in school is just basic knowledge you need to succeed in life. The real materials you'll need are in the heads of successful people. They know some things that you don't. The question now is, will you just dream or will you find out about these things? --------------------
