CHAPTER 42

I took a deep breath and continued. "I don't know about our future, Zavier and I. I don't even know if he's planning to have a future with me or I'm j-just a thing of the moment." Sadness welled from my words.

"You mean if he has plans to marry you?"

I nodded twice, my face in my hand.

"Can you keep being intimate with him if he assures you a future together?"

"I-I-I don't know. I guess I will. I like being in his arms, and I can't refuse him knowing he'll hurt. I don't like hurting him too. Knowing we have a future together will lessen the guilt I feel because I know Zavier. His word is gold and he doesn't lie."

She looked surprised, a little skeptical. "He doesn't lie? Ever?"

I nodded firmly. "Zavier doesn't believe in lying. 'Why lie when I can say the truth and get away with it?' that's Zavier. He's blunt and goes straight for what he wants and says whatever he wants to say without mincing words."
