Chapter Eight

Nicholas's POV:

Stretching my body, I felt good and well-rested. A feeling that was strange to me because I have never felt this way for the past eight years.

Checking the bedside clock, it was one in the afternoon. Where was I and how did I get into bed in a hotel robe? I began fishing my mind for memories and slowly, the events of last night began to reoccur. How she had insulted me in front of everyone. How she made me look weak. And how she took care of me despite my harshness.

I wasn't going to let it slide. No one has ever stood up to me. No one has ever defiled me. Yet she did all those and much more. I slept. A good, resounding sleep. The migraine was gone and I felt different. I had to find her.

Quickly I hurried to the bathroom, took a shower, and dressed up. Going to the receptionist I asked about the details of the girl that had checked me and she didn't have it. Doesn't she know her work? Just lazy ass. I went back to the restaurant and they didn't know about her. How come a common girl vanished into thin air?

"Carl, get Montreal to look for the girl that took me to Carlos's hotel. I don't care how you do it I want the details of that girl before the end of the day! No excuses. Get it done!" I roared into the phone. I wanted to see her again. For some reason, she had made me take notice of her.

The rest of the day, I couldn't concentrate. The thought of his I wanted to teach her a lesson filled my mind. Was it really teaching her a lesson? Maybe I wanted to try out what had yesterday and see if it works again. For some reason, she made me sleep. I would love to see if that would happen again.

The evening was spent searching for the girl in sneakers. Nicholas Morningstar-Sea Robert was desperate for the first time. Not desperate because of work or stuff like that, desperate for a woman. To find her. And my effort was futile. Frustration and anger overwhelmed me because I love to win. The more I couldn't find her, the more I wanted to spend all my resources looking for her.

"Hey, where are you?" Susan screeched into the phone as soon as I picked it up due to the constant annoying buzz.

"Where else? Work." I said rolling my eyes at her irrelevant question.

"You have to be kidding me. Get your ass to my club. I am having the ground opening today."

"Susan, I am swamped with work."

"Preach to the choir. If you don't show up, our friendship is over!" She ended the call before getting my response.

At this point, I had no choice but to pack up for the day and leave. Susan has been my childhood friend. The only one that I retained was because she was supportive and sensible. Whatever concerned her was of relevance to me.

Missing this party or whatever she tagged it for just to have an excuse to have fun, would be suicide. Against my will, I had to go.

"Carl, I am turning in for the night. Finish up and go home," I ordered my assistant of two years.

Carl was a blonde who had applied to my Enterprise after his college. He was clumsy at first but I saw potential and hired him. Grooming him, he has shown the potential I saw and has even exceeded my expectations.

One thing still marveled me though, when he applied, he worked as a blonde but over the years he chose to dye his hair to auburn color. Still, I think the blonde suits him better than the auburn but that wasn't in my place to state, anyway.

"Susan, why drag me to this when you know I am a busy man?" I asked, talking a little louder than usual due to the blaring music.

"Well, you never go out. Sit back, enjoy yourself and see if you get lucky enough to get laid," she said with a wink before mixing up with the thousands of people swaying their bodies to the awful loud music from the speaker.

I would just sit for a while and then slip out back home. I had no time to waste in such an environment. It was too loud, too sweaty, and unclean. I mean with the too many people touching and gliding their bodies.

Most people even lacked the knowledge to care for their bodies, that is why I didn't entertain hugs and kisses. Strictly a brief handshake and nothing more.

The booming music was deafening. How do people enjoy such loud and uncoordinated songs? I was more of a country, classic, and blues music kind of person. Anything with a high beat and violent rhythm, count me out. It was not soothing and I dealt with a lot of issues to bring one to myself through music. I preferred the usual neat, slow and steady kind of music. It healed at any time.

Sipping my Moet casually as I tried as much as possible to distract myself and wait patiently until my scheduled time of leaving, my eyes fell on her again. Impossible! What was she doing here?

She looked too innocent to be in a place like this. Immediately, I gulped down the rest of my drink, proceeding to where she stood in those four inches heel, spaghetti asymmetric strap short black gown with a slit in front showing off those hot long legs that made the white sparkling heels sexy.

Her hair was held in a neat ponytail making the angelic features of her face visible. She had mild makeup on. I couldn't believe that it was the same girl that wore those horrible sneakers and flowery printed gown. She looked gorgeous and adorable.

I have never admired tiny dresses on anyone until her. It looked different on her and I wish I could always see her in those. What a transformation. What exactly I wanted to do with her, was what I hadn't decided on. All I knew was that I had the desire to dominate her.
