Chapter Eighty-Seven

Nicholas's POV:

Before the following day, I had finalized my plans to take Talia out to the city for whatever she wanted to do. We have very well passed the level of she trying to escape and all that. Now, she was my woman, and I was her man. It has been too long since she left the island for a place that has civilization. On account of that, too, it was her nineteenth birthday the next day and I wanted it to be every ounce of fun and perfect for her.

"Hi, baby," I greeted, trailing loads of kisses on her face, shoulders, and neck.

Smiling at me, she combed her hand through my unkempt hair. "Someone is glowing." She announced with amusement on her face. "Care to tell me what is making you happy?"

I pretended to be thinking for a while before I finally said, "you." Yes, she. Talia Jacobs filled my world with so much brightness and forgiveness, which I didn't deserve.

Kissing me on the lips, "you make me feel different."
