CHAPTER 10: CHILDHOOD SWEETHEARTS

Elektra had a great time at school, her friends were there at school even though they weren’t in the same department. As this day was just the opening, Elektra with a group of classmates went to collect their second-year textbooks from the department head office.

When that part was done, Elektra and the other curious classmates took a visit to the hall where the freshmen were currently having their induction and getting to know more about the school.

They didn’t stay there for long as it was just too boring to listen to and the worst thing was the new students were around fifteen, half of the students in Elektra’s clique.

Elektra spent her day in the library, reading some ancient historical books which she found funny and worth reading. The one she was reading that day had something to do with some hidden treasure.

In life there was nothing called having too much money, she didn’t mind adding some ancient treasures to her vault. At lunch, she spent the time with her three friends and Hartley was a good girl.

She was so tired of answering questions related to her Edgon but after telling them that her boyfriend or sugar daddy bought it for her, they stopped questioning and it was peaceful once more.

By five, Elektra was back at the mansion and ready to record the first episode of her new book. Elektra who was home alone without Anisha who will be staying with her grandparents for the whole week found the house so quiet she was bored.

Before she could record anything, the butler suddenly announced that there was a visitor. Elektra who didn’t want to meet anyone told the butler that since the owner of the house was not there, then there was no need for her to meet whoever guest was there.

But the butler’s words made her head spin, “Young Madam if you say it like this, the Master will definitely be displeased. You are already the Master’s woman and the Master sternly warned us that you are also the house owner. So, you have to meet the guests.”

Elektra had no idea what Kasper was trying to pull but the words the butler told her, made her feel very proud. At least the man was aware otherwise, in the future Elektra was going to punish him severely.

“Since you say it like that then I am left with no choice, I will be down in five minutes, entertain the guest,” she waved her hand as she dismissed the butler.

The butler had a smile on his face as he made his way to the lounge where this visitor was. He had been with Kasper for over two decades, so he knew Kasper very well.

As a qualified butler, he wanted to see his Master happy, see him find someone who cherishes him and loves him. Even though Elektra was a bit cold and mysterious, the little girl was good and they all liked her.

Having Elektra meet this specific guest, was something that Kasper agreed to and they all wanted to see how Elektra will handle the situation and who will suffer defeat.

Elektra was done in five minutes still wearing casual clothes, she didn’t see any need to change her clothes and impress anyone. She wasn’t that type of person anymore.

When she arrived in the lounge, her eyes caught sight of a young woman who looked very cultured, mannered, she reminded Elektra of how she used to be before, a white lotus and this kind of person just made Elektra want to wretch her guts out and chase her away as fast as she can.

Elektra’s interest in this guest was now piqued as she wondered just how many more flowers did Kasper attracted?

Elektra flashed a smile that was hidden by the veil covering her face as she approached the woman seated on the expensive couch. When Alice saw this young girl in the house of the man she had crushed on ever since she was a child, she clenched her fists, luckily, they were hidden under the cushion she was holding on her lap.

Since she was in someone else’s house, Alice stood elegantly on her feet and scrutinized the girl whose face she couldn’t see.

“I heard that we have a guest, I am sorry for not welcoming you sooner. I was just busy with a few things. How should I address you?” Elektra was not fond of appeasing people so with a lie she went straight to the point.

Alice wanted to hammer the girl and ask her furiously, why she was acting as if this was her house?

“I am sorry for coming announced. It is just that I have been abroad for a while and decided to drop by and see brother Kasper,” Alice shyly spoke, her actions sinuating that there was something between the two of them.

Elektra who was hearing this, couldn’t help but sneer, luckily no one could see her face otherwise Alice would have thrown a fit.

“That is very nice of you, please sit. Is there anything we should serve you?” Elektra didn’t act all high and mighty and even acted as if she didn’t get the meaning behind Alice’s words.

Alice was so infuriated but she couldn’t do anything yet, so like a well-behaved lady, she sat down on the couch, “just some water will do.”

Quickly the staff brought some beverages and snacks for the two ladies to eat and enjoy.

“So, who are you?” Elektra asked as she sipped the orange juice from her glass.

Alice looked at Elektra with resentment, how could this little girl not know her?

“I am Alice Barnette; I have known brother Kasper ever since I was five years old and you?”

If Elektra couldn’t tell what trick Alice was playing, then she would have lived three lifetimes for nothing, “Elektra is my name and I have known Kasper for two months.”

Hearing this, Alice felt like she had won the first round but when she recalled how this unknown woman was staying in Kasper’s house and having all those servants bow to her and respect her, she wasn’t feeling too good about it.
