CHAPTER 13: TEA BANQUET 2

The ladies were having a lot of fun and were behaving extra well as they knew how important this day was. If they were lucky, they could be married into this family, so how could they let this opportunity go?

The tea banquet was halfway through when Bryce graced the mansion with his presence. Since Bryce was a player and enjoyed the accompany of women, he was dressed handsomely.

He was determined to get a few numbers and have some women to have fun with in the future. If he wanted to marry, he will personally find the candidate himself.

He hated arranged marriages the most, he had seen how horrible his eldest brother’s marriage was like and he didn’t want to go through it personally. His mother could bully anyone but Kasper, he was just waiting to see some drama.

The second he arrived, he looked for his mother first, talked with her for a while, and smiled politely at the madams who were busy flattering him as if he were their own son.

He was with the ladies when Kasper arrived. Bryce idolized his brother a lot, Kasper was an independent guy who refused to follow the original path of entering the family’s business but went out to start his own.

Kasper was born to be a king and this is something that Bryce will never be able to reach in his life. Bryce was more playful so when he had the chance to rebel, he began to play games and officially became an e-sports player.

Luckily his passion paid a lot as he managed to win a lot of trophies. It took a lot of convincing his parents and grandparents to let him do his own thing but the time he spent was worth it.

When he retired from playing, he opened his own club, became his own boss, and

raised one hell of a team. Bryce was successful in his own way and he was satisfied with that.

So, when he saw his brother getting out of the car while wearing a cold face, he knew that it wasn’t going to end so well. Kasper hated it when someone interferes with his life and this included his own family.

He still remembered the time when Kasper moved out of the house at eighteen to start his own thing. His parents had caused a fit but Kasper ignored all that. His cards were even blocked and Kasper nearly got disowned, if it wasn’t for their grandmother standing for Kasper, he wondered what would have happened to Kasper then.

Kasper didn’t even glance at the ladies who were acting all shy and looking forward to having Kasper give them some face. Kasper was not in any mood to entertain anyone.

His head was filled with that small, beautiful face he accidentally saw when the veil was blown away for a few seconds. He had been dying to see the face behind that veil for a very long time and yet Elektra had never given him the chance to.

And yet accidentally, Kasper finally saw that face and he was enchanted. This was the last thing he wanted to cement his feelings for her and taking into consideration what she told the butler about the flowers, it was time to talk with his mother.

Aaliyah sneered after hearing that Kasper had arrived. She had thought that Kasper will not come and accompany that vixen of his to his mansion. So, hearing that he was here, she wondered what he was thinking about and whether he was here to throw her face or agree to her requests?

When Kasper walked into the room where his mother was busy talking with the other madams, he nodded at the woman politely and they didn’t take it badly as they knew that Kasper was this way.

Aaliyah saw that her son wanted to have a private talk so she, “excuse us ladies, we will join you shortly.”

After saying this, she stood up on her feet and motioned Kasper to follow her. Kasper followed his mother; he had not seen her in months. He couldn’t be blamed; he was busy keeping an eye on his beloved.

When they entered Aaliyah’s study, he closed the door so that they may have some privacy.

“Do you want something to drink?” Aaliyah asked as she poured some water into the glasses.

“Water will do,” since she already poured it, he may as well drink it.

Aaliyah gave her son the water and watched him closely like a hawk, wanting to at least read him and see what he was up to.

“Mother, I am here to tell you about something,” Kasper lazily spoke after putting the glass on the table.

Aaliyah have her son a warning glare but Kasper was just too calm for that.

“If it is about that vixen you keeping at your house, then don’t even bother!” Aaliyah was just angry thinking about Elektra.

“Too bad, mother because I came here to tell you that I will not be with another woman if it isn’t Elektra.”

Aaliyah threw the glass on the table towards her son and Kasper calmly evaded as there was no way he was going to become a punching bag for his mother. If he got hurt, won't he lose face in front of so many people?

“You…………..you are going against me because of a girl? There are so many girls here, why can’t you pick one and marry? Why does it have to be that wild and unknown girl who hides behind a veil and doesn’t even appreciate everything that you do for her?” Aaliyah was so angry as she yelled at her son.

Kasper didn’t interrupt Aaliyah and let her vent her anger out. Kasper understood his mother very well. he was also angry but after sitting down and thinking over it, he began to understand fully what agony Elektra must have been through when he forced himself on her.

Elektra was probably too angry at him, hated him to the extent that she refused to remove the veil and let him see her. after letting Aaliyah vent her anger out and calmed down, it was time for him to say his own piece of mind.

“Mother, I do understand you and I feel your pain but I want you to understand that I am your son and I want to be with someone who makes me happy, someone I love, and not be with someone who is with me for benefits. I want to be like you and dad, so mom, can you please just leave this marriage business to me?”
